It didn't look good up until the first goal, but I am eating crow. But Sociedad are missing a few starters.

And, as a reward for playing a whole game without a horrible gaffe, Lenglet gets a kick in the nuts.

True that. With that being sad, if Fatinho and el Presi were here we’d obviously be in the double digits and keeping a clean sheet.

I’ve been very critical about him when he was bad, and he was horrible, but he’s been faultless tonight, so kudos to him.

I think this formation has done wonders for a lot of players. Koeman deserves a lot of credit for how things have been going of late.

Never imagined at the start of this season that I would enjoy watching this Barca teams much. I've slaggwd him off but fair play to Koeman.

VAR was never intended to be used so negatively, apparently.

Great win. Now international break and hope it will not kill the momentum.

I have a bigger problem with them spending 3 minutes reviewing the sixth goal.

    VAR is out of control.

I was thinking FdJ might have wanted to get an intentional yellow. Seemed like a perfect time for it, especially with Holland playing 3 matches in the upcoming FIFA break. Get a bit of rest and go into el clasico with a clean slate.

Now there's a chance he will miss el clasico.

At the risk of getting carried away, I must say that I’m filled with excitement at the prospect of this young and energetic team that Koeman is building. Mind you this squad is still without arguably it’s biggest talent of all; Fati.

It must be said though, Messi ,and Alba to a lesser extent, are still crucial to our success. With that being said, like I’ve already mentioned, a team will never be truly ready for life without their best player ever. Just ask Madrid.

I’m hoping that if Messi still wants to leave *tear* that the re-addition of Fati, one marquee signing upfront and a little luck in the back (Garcia being a smashing hit and Umtiti going back to becoming his former beastly self) we might be able to be Ok.

Well I did think at least 1 if not both of Leo and Frenkie would get a yellow, but really Koeman can still sit them the next match, or just play them till we hopefully get a 2 or more goal lead, then pull them early. And if he plays them he will surely remind them that this is not the game to get a yellow for dissent or for cynically breaking up a counter attack far from the goal. I trust that they could play with that in mind. But it is a risk.

I know Phil and Ray are not everyone's cup of tea but this is the best video recap I've found, really shows a few plays before the goal fest starts, the FdJ pass which Isak intercepts followed by MAtS save (around 48 second mark), then the crazy dribbling in the corner where Dest beats the double team twice, gets fouled at least once and finally loses the ball (around 92 seconds), Barca scores, another great MAtS save on Isak. Just great stuff:

De Jong's pass chart, just two bad ones, including that early one Isak stole:

Pretty sloppy first 40 or so minutes though when I see these highlights. Lucky we weren't behind at that stage as we hadn't generated many chances at the offensive end either. A better team might've taken advantage of those 2 absolute gifts.
