As opposed to Agoos who I'd like to see retire IN a fire.

But seriously, I too would have liked to see Ante in Fire red until the end, with an honorary spot in the Ring of Fire.....oh well. Sanneh is good, and I hope Wilt and Saccharine have something good up their sleeve.

    For the non-yank BOLLOCKS. :)

Well hopefully we'll have the firepower (no pun intended) (Herron) to make up for the loss. Though I appreciate getting a little tighter on the defensive side.

Well why should we worry? Don't you think that a foward we've seen play for 310 minutes (Herron) and a forward that's faded like a photo in each of his first two years in the league (Ralph) is enough?

    Oh, you don't? Me neither.

Who made this trade, Kenny Williams?

Razov for Sanneh = Lee for Podsednik

    Both trades = Crap

Expect something before the draft today. It's done.

Thankfully (mostly) there's no way Razov will be traded on to Metro.

I'm having mixed emotions about this. I like Razov as a pure stiker, but he was going to be a risk this year. Either he's going to come out and have a banner year, or slowly fade away. Sanneh is also a bit of an unknown. He had a decent finish with the Crew (he shant be taking PKs for us), but is aging. I'd venture a guess the developmental spot that came with him will be utilized in a trade sometime in the not-to-distant future.

That's fine, but it is official just not released. It's a done deal.

Everythings been signed. It's just a matter of the release being distributed...

Without a Kiera or Bridget avatar I just can't take you seriously.

I know, I can't either...but this chick is hot too.

I have now heard the deal which was agreed to last night might be jumping ship.

The trials and tribulations of draftday dealing.

How about Kiera and Bridget take on the chicks in my avatar in a Wesson Oil Twister match. Would you take THAT seriously?

Oh yeah. And it is difficult to see Razov leave, but if he didn't want to be here and we can get back some cap money, I'm for it.

Only if my avatar officiated the match, but got involved due to premeditated bias.

WTF, is no one getting any action on this thread?

Ante must have demanded a trade. This sucks..I think.

Despite my opinions of Razov, I don't think this is the Fire recieving full value for The All-Time Leading Scorer in Fire History. Hence, one of the following must have happened:

    1. Ante demanded a trade,
    2. This is a salary dump,
    3. The club no longer trusts Razov to be healthy, particularly at his salary number, or
    4. A combination of the above.

On the one hand, there isn't a long body of work in the forward rank to base our club's hopes on. [Ralph, Herron, and Sir Nate have little history to hang their hats on...]

OTOH, this club looking to be a formidable defensive unit, with Thornton, Curtin, Sanneh, [possibly] Brown, and [possibly] Caballero. One of the all time leaders in shut outs, 3 MLS All-Stars (at one time or another), and all but Curtin having been capped by his nation at one time or another. The Fire may not score many goals, but on the other hand, neither will the opposition, if the team stays as it is right now.

It sure seems to me that the team is going a different direction from where it had been. And I do agree that moves are often made not necessarily to mget fair value, but to end up with the best possible team on the field. Taking Ante from the roster may open a spot for a #10 or another defender. Ante is a great player, but the team may be better of with these other players (given Ralph, Herron amd Jaqua). Just a thought !!!
