Our old captain and righteous man of boot kicking to face of all things Dallas, Mr. Ricardo Clark, he is now accepting a role as youth coach for the Vancouver Whitecaps. Do it for the kids! Whitecaps add MLS vet Ricardo Clark as assistant coach https://theprovince.com/sports/socc...-add-mls-vet-ricardo-clark-as-assistant-coach
Good for him. Clark is my favorite Dynamo player of all time and I'd like to hope he will end up back in Houston one day. Looks like he is being brought on specifically to help one-on-one with the Whitecaps youth, where he has a lot to offer given his career. MLS, Europe, International team, and then lately Dynamo youth coach. If you want to see a team that actually is undergoing a real youth movement instead of marketing one, look no further than the Whitecaps.
Rico is hands down my favorite Houston Dynamo player of all time as well. Just a great guy on and off the field and he really got stuck in for our colors!
Samesies. Love Rico. Since he didn’t play in the MLS Cups he’s overlooked, but he played a huge part in all those regular season games in 2007 and 2007.
https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/g...ats-say-about-the-player-what-can-he-improve/ QPR switched to a 352 and moved GC back to centerback and he has played pretty well.
Rico's all-time mark in Houston is 304 appearances and 31 goals. Man Card stamped : certified HOUSTON DYNAMO LEGEND
Manotas scored a beauty against Queretaro. He's up to 4 goals in 12 appearances and has been a consistent starter. Hopefully whatever incentive clauses they have are close to kicking-in. Elis at Boavista is at 4 goals and 2 assists in about 1,560 minutes and is a consistent starter as well now. That team is in a relegation fight down the stretch and hopefully stays up. Again, one hopes that Elis is on track to hit whatever incentive clauses Jordan put into that deal.
Imagine Boavista getting relegated and them selling us back Elis! (emphasis on imagine because at those minutes and production another European team would probably swoop in for him)
Boavista lost 0-1 against Farense, who is also in a relegation fight. Pretty big loss as it was a six point swing. Sporting looks to be running away with at the top of the table, but the bottom half of the table is really tight. Teams 9 through 18 are all within 6 points of one another with ten games to go.
Another good write up on our legend Rico. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2021...pect-youth-development-vancouver-whitecaps-fc
Good for him! Waibel was boss!!! Imagine if our club had Craig Waibel, Brian Ching, DaMarcus Beasley and Ricardo Clark working with the FO or our Academy set up!
Elis notched another goal and an assist yesterday. Boavista now (barely) clear of the drop zone with nine games to go.
Forgot to post this yesterday, but Dynamo fan favorite and Brian Ching BFF Jesse Marsch was named RB Leipzig manager. Jesse Marsch will become our new head coach from the 2021/22 season! He takes over from Julian #Nagelsmann, who is joining #FCBayern. 🔴⚪ #RBLeipzig pic.twitter.com/KBqCv8hK4T— RB Leipzig English (@RBLeipzig_EN) April 29, 2021 The news brought back found memories of past Dynamo squads. Obviously some people hated playing against them, as evidenced by their often hilarious commentary. Marsch, especially, was a well-documented Dynamo critic. Called the Dynamo thugs and named Ching as a diver. Also, may have played a role in his USMNT omission only to pick him in the 2012 Expansion Draft. Ching, famously, threatened not to suit up.
I have witnessed in sports that there are those that mistake agression and fighting spirit for thug tactics and playing the sport the wrong way. Which is all an over the top way for haters like a Jesse Marsch to attack an opponent's style of play and passion for the team colors. I have no doubt that in our guys locker room that after hearing the quotes from Marsch our players just laughed!
Was watching the Fort Lauderdale Strikers-North Carolina Independence game and saw Zach Steinberger is still playing for the strikers.
Manotas finished his first campaign in Mexico on Saturday with 5 goals and 1 assist in 17 games. Tijuana finish 14/18, below the cut-off for the liguilla. They didn't finish outside by much though.
goal scoring numbers aside i thought elis' speed scaled up to bigger things where manotas was about right where he belonged, pretty productive, little sloppy. mind you elis is also sloppy but he's past many a defender by the time that matters.
Geoff Cameron ending his time at QPR. They aren't offering him a new contract and he is free to anyone he wants to sign with. He has announced that he is coming back to the US this summer after the season. QPR is doing well now and he has played in quite a few games as captain this season. He is just now getting over a small injury / absence of games but he will play his last QPR game against Luton town.
Was Cameron's beef with Canetti or did it extend to the whole ownership group? I honestly can't remember.
Canetti definitely. As for the ownership part that’s probably down to how much they were involved in choosing Cabrera.
