I'm sorry, I'm sure Gattuso means well, and I love him for trying, but we need more quality on that position Insigne has been world class this entire season
“Napoli confirm Faouzi Ghoulam has sustained a knee injury, with reports they fear cruciate ligament damage yet again.” poor bastard
Some of you here are mad, imo. You act as if the greatest teams in the world never made mistakes, and your opinions are inconsistent. No team plays games without mistakes, and almost every team allows the opposition to attack and sometimes even the best players struggle. Manolas had no rhythm because he came after injury, but Ospina is just a joke, no matter when or after what he comes. Don't take me wrong, I don't care about Ospina, but you are craaazyyyy. But I forgot, that Man City, PSG, Juve, damn, all the other teams in the world are nothing in comparison with us. We are gods, in all polytheistic religions our players would be the major gods, cloned Zeuses.
Man I haven't posted in so long my last post was about Maggio being trash LOL. Good to see some names I remember still around. Anyways I don't know how I feel about this team or Gattuso. When he was hired I was livid, dropping Ancelotti for someone Milan sacked. Then he turned the team around I thought that he was a perfect fit, and now it seems like he's all but gone after the season (if he lasts that long). Its strange because he seems to be able to get the most out of some players (Insigne, Lozano, Zielu) whereas Fabian is clearly not being used correctly. We just really need to make the CL, Serie A is finally competitive again and we can't miss it 2 years in a row and continue falling behind.
https://www.tuttonapoli.net/in-prim...uart-operazione-perfettamente-riuscita-462363 Season over for Ghoulam. Wouldn't be surprised if Giuntoli buys him out on the last year of his contract this summer
It is kind of strange with Gattuso. Insigne hasn't looked this good since the 2016/17 season, Zie is finally being used where he should have been since day one and it shows. Lozano has caught on, and to me anyways, plays better backed up in a deeper role where he can run at defenders. This formation is best suited for the front four starters, but not the two central midfielders, and fullbacks. All of these midfielders leave too much space behind them for a 4-2-3-1 to work, and there's a load of film on goals against that show it happening over and over. DiLo can't cross, but at least Rui on the left can at times. Both of them get eaten for lunch by quality wingers, and that's where the weakness comes to shine on both sides.
The defense is shocking at times for sure, and I think you're right about the 2 midfielders being the main problem. Ruiz is amazing but he's not a regista, and Bakayoko is...Bakayoko. We need a DM that can actually protect the back 4 and can make a pass. Left back is also a glaring hole, Rui is terrible. I like DiLo though. And why in God's name is Ospina still getting games? Did he not see Meret save our ass vs Rube? Leaving the future Italy No.1 on the bench for Ospina is unforgivable.
we just need to accept whatever happens this season and hope for the best. The worst thing was we actually played great before Ghoulam went off - will we ever get a LB as good?
The game was pretty good, but I think it was clear evidence of our lack of depth in so many places. Rui is a nightmare, he thinks he is great, but he is average at best. Politano-Lozano contrast is one that can harm your eyes. I won't even begin about Baka, he should have been named in JAPAN. I remember he was better when things were going well, but he absolutely cannot play. His job should never be anything more than running around and bumping into opposition like a dog.
I think the whole trio of Allan, Jorgi, and Hamsik did the trick. Hamsik was criticized by some here, but he was able to change his position and play superbly there, albeit sts only decently or not so well. But he was still statistically good, playing from a deeper position. I was hoping Lobotka could be sth, but it seems like he is not suited to this level. He doesn't look exactly fit and he seems to lack the confidence to do anything at all most of the time.
Hamsik gave us patience and a moment of surprise, Jirginho with precision and distribution, Allan with ferocity and fearlessness. Those were the good times. I like Ziel now and I think Fabian can still be worthy as well, but the 3rd one is a big issue. Anyway, Juve can now concentrate on the league almost exclusively, counting out the final. Did anyone watch it yesterday? I got high and kind of ended up incapable of doing much, so I decided to watch from the 2nd half forward, and it was one hell of a game. Porto played ugly, but intelligent. The whole time I was thinking: "If they can keep the result 2:1, they will go to the extra time, and then if they somehow manage to score 1 goal, Juve will have to come up with two goals in the stoppages, and the defence of Porto has been excellent so far, while their attack still showed signed of danger, though they were tired attacks." And that, my friends, is precisely what happened. Juve managed to score after Porto equalized, but they only managed to go up by one, so Porto advances now due to a greater number of away goals. PS: Lozano on the bench against MILAN.
That free kick goal will haunt Juve fans for awhile. I also think their run with Ronaldo has come to an end. He was invisible yesterday. Two years in a row ousted in round of 16 by Lyon, and now Porto, will leave a sour taste for awhile. It also shows Serie A is behind the times. After today, there should be no league teams left in the competition.
Imagine having a player on the team that: - you can't sub off - you can't tell him where to play - you can't tell him how to play - only on the team for personal glory That's CR at Juve. The CR to Juve move will be seen as a huge failure. They should have never fired Allegri. And they should have not listened to the dumbest sections of their supporters who wanted "il bel gioco". This is not Juventus's DNA and they will burn more coaches trying to reform their style. Juventus needed to follow in the path of Bayern Munich. Now that the cycles of the Barca and Real super teams are over, Munich are standing as one of the top two teams in Europe and as defending champs.
