Roberto Affonso Junior and Sean Tse have joined Kitchee, as the club needs to take on the ACL group stage as well as the HKPL.
Former Hong Kong Young Player of the Year, Tommy Chuck, and his girlfriend were arrested today on suspicion of 16 counts of illegal debt collection. What a massive fall from grace for someone who had so much potential. He was found in possession of threatening letters and multiple cans of red paint, which he is accused of smearing on the doors of his victims.
https://www.budget.gov.hk/2021/eng/el.html HK govt will spend around $300 million to implement a five-year plan for upgrading football pitches. They will look at turning some 7-a-side fields into proper 11-a-side standard football fields, as well as providing more 5-a-side pitches.
https://ilovehkpl.on.cc/?i=SPT210304-1297-hkpl-001&d=1614868339 Kitchee 2:0 TSW Pegasus Dejan Damjanović scored his first two goals for Kitchee.
Does anyone agree with me in thinking that Southern District's goalkeeper Tse Tak Him needs to be dropped? He has been in horrendous form since the season restarted, both in the SAC and PRL. He has been at fault for at least a goal and most recently was on the wrong end of a 5 goal drubbing. Choy Tsz To is ready to take over. Tse needs to transition into a GK coach or a commentator (which he is great at). He is simply finished.
https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=289466492549837 HKPL Eastern Longlions 0:1 Kitchee Dejan Damjanović scored the only goal in the top of the table encounter. Eastern Longlions captain Diego Eli was red carded for two bookable offences in a rather bad tempered match. If I am not mistaken the two clubs will meet again next week.
Fiery but entertaining match. This is what fans want to see between two top-tier clubs. They will face each other again next Friday, hopefully this time with a fuller squad.
Sean Tse has received his HKSAR passport. He arrived from the Maldives on Thursday so he should be available to Kitchee in early April after he completes his quarantine.
Great news. Sean Tse will be a great addition to the HKNT. I remember how excited I was when he first came to HK in 2012.
https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=281727286674227 Lee Man 2:1 KC Southern District Southern gk Tse Tak-Him was red carded for alleged handball outside the penalty area. But he claims he never handled it and was wrongly penalized. After the match there was also a quarrel between the clubs and Southern complained of racist remarks from Lee Man. http://paper.wenweipo.com/2021/03/15/SP2103150004.htm Lee Man has since issued an statement claiming they will punish the player concerned internally and has received Southern's acceptance. Apparently a Lee Man player said "Japanese" to Sho Sasaki and he shouted back "Show respect!". Lee Man said the players had some clashes after the match but the Lee Man player has no intention to insult Sho Sasaki or his race.
The Lee Man player accused of racism appears to be young HK star Yu Wai-lim. Disappointing, Yu has been playing well so far and this definitely mars people's image of him.
HKPL Rangers 0:0 Kitchee Eastern Longlions 0:0 TSW Pegasus Both Kitchee and Eastern drew before they meet again this Friday.
HKPL Kitchee 1:1 Eastern Longlions Kitchee and Eastern Longlions draw in front of a "full house" of 3200 fans. (Half capacity due to COVID-19 precautions.) Dejan Damjanović scored again for Kitchee but Everton found a beautiful equaliser for Eastern.
Fantastic atmosphere at Mong Kok on Friday night. Fans were lined up around the block waiting to get in.
Matt Orr is one of the best Hong Kong talents I have seen in a long, long time. His all around game is amazing and he is a physically imposing presence.
HKPL TSW Pegasus 1:2 Kitchee Matt Orr scored a header in second half injury time to give Kitchee a hard fought away win. In the first half, Dejan Damjanović won a penalty which was converted by Manuel Gavilan. Sun Ming-Him scored a good equalizer for TSW Pegasus in second half.
Sapling Cup Lee Man refused to play Happy Valley in a rescheduled semi-final and thus Happy Valley have been awarded the win and progress to the final against Eastern Longlions. Happy Valley was originally banned from playing the semi-final for failing to pay insurance fees. Lee Man was awarded a 3-0 walkover. They paid the fees subsequently and appealed. Their appeal was successful and HKFA ordered Lee Man to play Happy Valley in a rescheduled semi-final. What a stupid mess. The HKFA should have known Happy Valley (and TSW Pegasus) would pay up and appeal, shouldn't they? This is a clear governance issue. If I were running Lee Man then I would seriously consider taking the matter up with AFC or even FIFA.
Au Yeung Yiu Chung has joined J3 club Yokohama YSCC. Hopefully he does get to play some matches this time.
I'm surprised Andy Russell has been a free agent for a whole year now, no club has any interest in picking him up?
https://www.transfermarkt.com/andy-russell/profil/spieler/339610 Transfermarkt has him on a free transfer to Jiangxi Beidamen in Jan 2021.
CSL Guangzhou City 2:2 Guangzhou HK player Tan Chun-Lok played the full match for Guangzhou City (formerly Guangzhou R&F).
