Read a lot this week about Astori. He was really becoming a great player in his old age. I read up on his pagelle and he was getting 6.5 or a 7 rating more often than not. In his last game against Chievo , he got a 7 and was even voted man of the match.
Le pagelle di Fiorentina-Chievo Verona 1-0: Astori monumentale..

It’s true when they say only the good die young!

Bad year for Italian football, without the World Cup (when we only see which teams qualified). Astori could play a nice role in EURO 2020 qualifications. Barzagli, Chiellini retired.

The way he was playing for La Viola, especially with the lack of Italian defenders, Astori could very well have made the national team had Italy made the World Cup. Between now and May, there was still many games to be played, in and out of form players , not to mention injuries. Therefore, I don’t see why Davide couldn’t be considered even as a reserve player. The only thing that many have hindered his chances was his time at Roma. He didn’t have a great season when he was there and that could have set him back when it came time for selection.

Another footballer died in France: Thomas Rodriguez

    https://www.si.com/soccer/2018/03/0...ench-midfielder-thomas-rodriguez-dies-aged-18

The main problem of all deaths connected with sports is that they are under high physical, emotional and mental pressure. In earlier decades, players ran maybe 5 km in their 90 minutes. Today, they achieve more than 10 km. And they bring some new useless competitions: Nation Cup, variety of national cups, promotion of football costs a lot - human lives.

Chairman of FC Tours is Jean Marc Ettori (Italian or Italian Corsican Gianmarco)

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tours_FC

    Famous coach: Jorge Costa.

Interesting squad: Filippi, Lippini, Mancini. Assignment for FIGC. Lippini is Corsican. Corsicans ask for the independence (Genovese people in fact).

    Ex-coach Olivier Pantaloni - Corsican.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olivier_Pantaloni

Marco Simone was their coach. I think that he was very much underestimated in Italian NT.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marco_Simone

I remember him mostly from Monaco in late 90's.

Incredible scene at the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Florence where there is a pool of tears. The game between Fiorentina and Benevento was stopped in the 13th minute to honor the recent sudden passing of the Fiorentina captain Davide Astori's number......

The only noise is coming from the curva Fiesole otherwise the rest of the stadium is a complete silence. RIP Astori!

He played 13 matches for Fiorentina, with 1 goal. 11 in Serie A, 2 in Cup. He scored his goal today at 11.3.

He also played in Palmerias 3 seasons. 111 Apps, 13 goals. Saw this in his career stats. Very strange.

Caught the 31 goal scorer as well. Amazing.

I have to say though that it was a bit too much morbid. The start of the match, the break at 13, well done. But afterwards, celebrate Astori’s life. I am pretty sure he would have wanted to. The fans should have erupted after the goal. Not applause politely.

Milan Badelj signed his contract on 31 August 2014 for Fiorentina. For club in Croatia Dinamo Zagreb, from where he went abroad, he played 113 matches.
For U19 team, he played 13 matches. For Croatia A team, 32 matches and 1 goal.
He has 103 matches for Fiorentina.
In his first season for Fiorentina, he played 13 matches in UEFA competitions and 3 in Coppa Italia, 21 in Serie A (2+1=3).

In first two seasons he had 1 goal in every season of Serie A.

His first name is Milan. The club AC Milan was founded on 13th December 1899.
December is 12. 1+2 is 3. One of club nicknames is Il Diavolo.

I just knew that I need to go on Milan website because of Badelj's first name.
Milan won his first title in 1901. Gattuso was born in January (1), 1 goal for Italy NT.

    Milan Badelj played 31 match in 2008-2009 and in 2012 (1+2=3) - 2013, scored 1 goal.
    In 2014-2015, he played
3 matches in Bundesliga and in German Cup.

    Badelj scored
1 goal for Croatia A team in 2011 year, in 32nd (3-2=1) minute. The result was 1-3 for Croatia. Maybe he scored in 31st minute, after the celebration, stadium officials maybe took the 32nd minute.

He scored that goal in Maltese city of Ta'Qali . When you invert some letters, we can see Itala. This city is a part of a town called Attard.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attard

    Motto(s): Florigera rosis halo
(I perfume the air with my blossoms)

    Flori / Florence / (Fiore)ntina

The city has a lot of flower gardens. The city also has San Anton palace.

Croatian Football Federation was founded on
13 June 1912. (1+2=3) Santo Antonio. Best result, 3rd place.

As La Viola plays Roma tonight, we remember Davide Astori who played for both teams and died too young!

    Stasera Fiorentina-Roma.

Il pensiero è sempre rivolto a Davide Astori ❤
