Ends as a draw, of course. Good stuff from Robinson except for a bad yellow card. Had that highlight reel run been finished, would have been super-popular among Fulham fans and a huge moment in the attempt to stay up.
Jedi starts, Ream on the bench, vs. a pretty strong Tottenham side. Three points would put them temporarily out of the relegation zone, which would be nice with Liverpool and Man City up next...
I think the formation may actually be a 3-5-2 with Jedi as a LWB getting pretty far forward, but still uncertain about that.
Jedi gets the ball at the top of the box with time, creates a little space for a shot, puts it weak and wide right. Don't see him with the ball in that spot too often
Robinson controls well and has a nice outside of the foot touch to RLC in the buildup to a Lookman shot in a dangerous spot, but Sanchez was able to block the close range shot. Robinson practically playing left midfield with RLC in front of him. They're in one another's way too much so far. Spurs just had a couple of shots, their best chances so far.
I see he still gets beat on the long ball On plays like that you have to live and die by the offside trap. They just tried to recover and take on the attacker from a behind position
Harry Kane puts a point blank header from the six yard box right at Areola. Jedi was busy getting beaten by Gareth Bale at the back post, and Fulham are lucky to be even, although other stats are even.
Apparently Dele Alli is on Spurs - you wouldn't have known that this season. This time Robinson was not particularly marking Harry Kane as Son's cross finds Dele Alli to get a touch on for 1-0.
I respect Scott Parker with a game plan designed to try to win, but Spurs are finding it way too easy to slip away from markers in this setup - they'll probably have a dozen more good chances at this rate and it'll be hard for Fulham to keep the deficit at one.
Well, that was excellent by AR resulting in a great chance that was skied over. AR is a physically strong outside back.
our boy just made a rampaging run, worked over davinson sanchez, and put in a reasonable cross to the feet that got pushed back to a shooter who blasted a shot over the bar from a spot where xG has gotta be prettttttttty high
Run of the match by Robinson through three Spurs cross toward the penalty spot to Lookman, touch to Lemina, I think?, who blasts it over the top to foil a great hockey assist.
Any chance we see Ream in the second half? Tosin has given the ball away in midfield at least seven times by my count. My guess is Parker won't want to shatter Tosin's confidence. Outstanding run by Robinson to close the half leads to grade A chance ... which Lemina skies over from 14 yards.
The problem with Fulham, they are asking AR to play like wingback but they want to defend with a traditional 4 across.
thats fair, but you are also trying to create mismatches/overloads/etc and you can do that when you have a guy with wheels like antonees. you never know what managers truly think, but you would hope the enormity of the task is considered when evaluating his performances
It would work just fine for a team like Barcelona, a team that doesn't lose the ball as often. With Fulham, they are not at that level to be playing like that.
