At least two ways to look at the chase: Where will the Fulham points come from, and which rival team(s) might implode? 12 games remain: Tottenham @ Liverpool Man City Leeds @ Aston Villa Wolves @ Arsenal @ Chelsea Burnley @ Southampton @ Man U Newcastle Down at the bottom, Fulham can't worry about West Brom and Sheffield U. 30 Southampton 1 point from 15 (last 5 games) - game in hand, but in free fall 28 Burnley 6/15 - lost badly today 26 Brighton 5/15 - lost last two 26 Newcastle 4/15 - worst goal difference of the five 23 Fulham 9/15 - too many draws, but favorable goal differential Let's hope Robinson gets to play a significant role in keeping Fulham up.
Even Burnley trying to join the race to relegation. "Hey, we're almost safe - let's ship some goals!" AR to pip a goal at the whistle last game to get past NUFC!
From the Guardian about today's game: Man, I hope Fulham stays up. They are playing so well and would be a great competitor with a few more goals. Tied for 8th best in goals against.

Having watched most of Juve's games this season, that's pretty special. Chiesa, behind him in accuracy, whips in a MEAN ball.
It certainly would seem so, yet ... Fulham have 'no fear' of Spurs, Liverpool and Manchester City ahead of tough run, insists Andersen. "It is not the end of the world, we need to continue and I am sure we will take a lot of points," the Danish defender told Fulham’s official website. "We are really difficult to beat. "There is no need to show fear, we know and we have showed all season that no matter who we are playing we can show a good performance. Last time we played them I feel we could have won so let's go win on Thursday. "We should have won by two or three goals [against Palace]. It is really frustrating but again a really positive performance and something we need to build on. We have to believe the goals will come and they will." https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/ful...-man-city-andersen/17byw5szrsi1a16ebsh3usq4c1
Andersen himself has been impressive since he first played in November. {He joined in October but immediately got hurt.} Before Andersen: 6 PL games - 1 point | 0 wins 1 draw 5 losses | GD -9 (14 Goals Against) After Andersen: 20 PL games - 22 points | 4 wins 10 draws 6 losses | GD -2 (18 Goals Against)
I mean as a team they are really hard to score against. 21 percent of their goals allowed came in the first two games of the season. Put differently if you take the first two games (when they were gelling a completely new team and backline) out of the equation they are allowing .96 goals a game.
In the Premier the fun is not to see who wins the league, that is often settled weeks in advance. The fun is to see which teams save themselves from relegation on the last date. By far, those are the most exciting matches towards the end of the season, and this one promises not to disappoint. We're going to have six teams fighting to avoid the #19 and #18 spots. I give The Blades for dead.
Yeah I think it may be over soon for West Brom as well. Honestly, it was for a while looking like the relegation battle was going to be boring as well this season. But credit to Fulham for at least giving it a fight....

Watched the whole game. Fulham completely bossed Tottenham in the 2nd half. The VAR callback on their equalizing goal is probably the worst call of the season.
My lord, just watched the highlights on YouTube. Clearance from Spurs slams directly into a Fulham player, hits his arm that is directly at his side. Mind you, he's angled sideways, so if he was an actual amputee, it would have simply hit his waist/side. They call it a handball! I don't understand how sports leagues can fek this up so frequently. NFL, for all the grief it gets, probably does it the best. The NBA is a total cluster, and makes the last 60 seconds take about 20 minutes while generally screwing up the call anyways. But this was a new kind of awful. (Edit - and just to get ARob in here, that one slalom dribble and cross he had was gorgeous. I hope anyone complaining "derpppp he has ZERO ASSISTS" will go watch that.)
Yeah I mean the whole point of the rule is that you aren't allowed to use your hand/arm to gain an advantage. It 100 percent wouldn't have been a penalty if it was an attacker kicking towards an attacker in the box. Really feel gutted for Maja, because the finish was quite sublime.
Haven't seen it yet, but I miss the more common sense days of handball decisions. On the other hand, the rule as its enforced today is very black and white: arm contacts the ball, it's a handball. But that doesn't leave room for all the gray areas that it should, which is a good or bad thing depending on your outlook.
Is that the rule? Whenever I'm watching the EPL, there are loads of handballs and they are always talking about "natural" positions of the arm. If it's away from the body, it's a penalty. It's still dumb (because there are plenty of natural positions of the arm away from the body), but at least they try. The one today, the guys are was literally touching his side/waist, like it was attached to his body, so maybe the rule has changed to what you're talking about. My issue with this, and many others, is that the rule is so ridiculously harsh. If someone reaches out to intentionally stop the ball, ok, penalty, likely goal. But how often is that for defenders? Instead they have to run to defend with their arms behind their backs, it looks ridiculous (not to mention unnatural). Get rid of handball penalties completely. Direct or indirect free kick from the closest spot on the 18 yd box. Bam. Team has a great goal scoring opportunity for a minor infraction. I don't understand it. Same thing with offsides. And the wildest thing is, whenever I bring it up here, people are just like "that's the rule", like it's impossible to change or improve a current rule that makes zero sense. I get people would like to see more goals in soccer, but penalty kicks are never fun, interesting, or entertaining.
