I’ll be honest.... I’m not that excited.I heard a few weeks ago a new professional team was coming. I didn’t know anything about it but I was hoping it was going to a NWSL side with so many quality women coming out of CO. It’s a hotbed and I wish they had a professional outlet at home.

Jordan Morris on loan to Swansea: https://theathletic.com/news/jordan-morris-swansea-transfer-football/JwiLvIcodNLH
Rumor is USMNT F Bobby Wood is leaving Hamburg for RSL. I think Rapids messed up if they didn't try and sign him. I do not think he is a sure thing Scorer in MLS but loved his activity up top and the runs he makes.
It will be interesting to see what kind of deal he gets. I'd be more interested in him than Johannsson (younger, better pedigree, etc.) but I wouldn't break the bank for him.
To say this is an honor would be an understatement https://t.co/otXZw2QzJM— Rose Lavelle (@roselavelle) January 29, 2021
Lots of big things happening at FC Cincinnati. One day after officially adding Brazilian forward Brenner for a massive fee, the club is now in talks to bring former D.C. star Lucho Acosta back to MLS. https://t.co/NHG0C5s9RH— Sam Stejskal (@samstejskal) February 10, 2021
Does anybody else listen to the Football Weekley podcast from the Guardian? It is still my all-time favorite. On this Thursday's (Feb 18) MLS got more play than usual (which is usually nothing, that's OK, it's English). I thought it was really funny. Don't know if anyone else heard it.
I hope nobody minds if I do a bit of self-promotion here, and if you follow me on other social media you've probably already seen this, but I am in the job market again so if anyone knows somebody looking for a software QA with 20+ years experience, let me know.
I have heard three cities being considered for Nations League in June: Chicago, Denver and ... Austin. I imagine whether fans are allowed in stadiums in certain cities, and to what capacity, will play a big role in any decision. https://t.co/0kB9mqsqLX— Paul Tenorio (@PaulTenorio) February 27, 2021
Do I read this correctly that Sacramento is no longer an MLS expansion city? MLS announced Sacramento as an expansion city without a signed agreement or any payment. On Friday, that decision blew up when Ron Burkle walked away. Some believe it may be a blessing for MLS. For now, it leaves plenty of questions about what's next: https://t.co/oVCJCY2YhJ— Paul Tenorio (@PaulTenorio) February 27, 2021
Is it bad that I'm kinda hopeful this is the case? Why the heck do we need 4 (four!!) teams in California? Not much of an "expansion" if you ask me
Yes, Arizona should probably get a team, maybe Albuquerque, Boise or Billings to round out the western states.
There's a solid enough fan base out here in PHX. Prior to COVID, Phoenix Rising sold out 23 consecutive games. Their new field/sports complex looks pretty darn good too, and the ownership group isn't afraid to spend money. I hear rumors that they are looking at purchasing an English Championship team as well to add to their ownership. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I would LOVE an MLS team here in Phoenix.
I know we plow this ground from time to time. The largest MSAs without an MLS team are: #10 Phoenix, #13 Riverside, #14 Detroit, #17 San Diego, #18 Tampa. Of note, Sacramento was #26. With MLS trying to maximize TV revenue, I could see them going after one of those markets first.
Fans can call them that for short but Sporting Club Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario United Athletic Rovers FC would be the registered name?
My guess is that, unless Sacramento can put another ownership group together soon, MLS will move on to one of the other markets waiting in the wings. My money would be on San Diego, Las Vegas, Detroit or Phoenix
Of that list: San Diego or Phoenix. Maybe LV. I suspect they would want to stay west. Landycakes is pushing hard in San Diego, Phoenix has a strong presence (as many here have pointed out!)
