People shouldn't forget how much media exposure and sponsorship opportunities Americans get just for being Americans, since so many major sponsors are American companies. Among english players, he's just one of of many and most of those are better than him right now. He'll be guaranteed a world cup spot in 2026 most likely, in the host country.
How much sponsorship have our other dual nationals gotten in the last 10 years? Or even Americans only in the last 10 years? Is there really a ton of sponsorship money he can count on by picking the US?

I'm actually fine with this. I'd rather he not blow up right now and be tempted by an offer from England.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...tates-Valencias-teenage-star-Yunus-Musah.html “...the Football Association have received more encouraging news about Musah's future.” “Sportsmail understands it is Musah's preference to pursue an international career with England.”
I’ll believe it when I see it. He’s basically a lock for the US 23 and would get a lot of time in qualifying this year. I find it difficult to believe he would even get called in for a competitive match foot England at this point. If he passes on US call ups to stay home for England, then good luck to him. We’ll know soon enough.
Right. Until he actually decides, or at least makes a public quote about what he’s thinking, I’m not going to worry. Articles like this that lack quotes or identified sources are pretty much meaningless.
The people reporting this are ones I would trust. I still think he will take his time to decide but indications are his preference is to play for England— keith costigan (@KeithCostigan) March 3, 2021
Supposedly he's a forward now? "Having left Arsenal for Valencia in 2019, the forward has established himself as a key member of the LaLiga side..." It would suck if he went with them, but not the end of the world.
He is a squad player for a below average (but not terrible) club in la liga. He is only 18, so there is a ton of potential there, and he will likely become at least a decent starter at that level, and could become a star, but he is not guaranteed anything beyond what he has already accomplished. I would love to have him, but he is not a player who would transform our squad, as I’m not even sure he’s in the starting 11. at the same time, he’s even further away from playing for England. If he picks them, I’ll be surprised if he makes any of their squads for major tournaments over at least the next 2-3 years, and he might never make it.
It’s not exactly surprising his preference is to play for England. His connection to the U.S. is about as attenuated as it could possibly be.
