If the timeframe for return to action is the same as last time Morris should be back for the start of next season. That gives him a decent window in which to make the World Cup. But he'll need to hit the ground running. Nowadays, plenty come back stronger.
https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2021...g-injury-during-swansea-city-match-while-loan UPDATE (Feb. 22, 6:40 pm ET): Jordan Morris will return to the United States to have surgery on the serious knee injury he suffered while on loan at Swansea City, Seattle Sounders announced Monday. Swansea had earlier confirmed that the player would miss the remainder of the Championship season. Morris will have surgery in Santa Monica, California, with Dr. Bert Mandelbaum. “First and foremost, we have been in touch with Jordan and he has our full support during this difficult time for him and his family. It’s important to us that he get the best care possible, as well as the most comfortable environment to recover,” said Sounders general manager & president of soccer Garth Lagerwey in a team release. “Having gone through this before in 2018, seeing Jordan suffer another injury of this nature makes it equally devastating and hopeful. We know first-hand the resilience of his character and look forward to the day he steps on the soccer field again. In the meantime, we’re focused on welcoming him home and making sure he has the full support of our club.”

I’m going to ask the question of why they don’t do both knees at the same time. If one is bad it follows the other is also. It would be harder to rehab both at the same time but easier than starting over with the second one a year or two later. Must be a massive blow to one’s psyche.
It's especially a shame, because Morris never should have made this move. He had the opportunity to aim higher than Arriola and Dike. And I state this as somebody who has had Morris in my first XI for the US since the end of 2019, even accounting for all the new players who have become prominent.
Well the idea was JM would be playing at Swansea in the EPL next season. If Swansea don't get promoted I'm sure there would have been another top 5 league suitor for his services. Now Seattle have a quandary as his contract runs out at the end of the year and they already have 3 DPs.
Was it healthy? Can they do a MRI and see if it’s about to explode? If so go ahead and do both. I’d agree with you if they scanned and it was healthy. I’ve seen this happen a bunch though and going through this twice seems mean and avoidable.
Good question. That would certainly be reason not to do it. Anyone know? Has any poor soul blown out both at the same time?
Poor guy. Both patella tendons. I was on the “turf” at Veterans Stadium and it blew my mind that football was played on it. Might as well play on a concrete parking lot.
If you are grossed out by his, um, "completely severed patellar tendons" then don't read that wiki page.
The point is you dont have to water it, cut it or hire people to get it ready to play on. Its all about the $$$ in the USA and the owners dont really care about the people that get hurt on it. There is always other players that will come along
Bradley fired shortly after signing contract with Swansea. Morris season ended shortly after signing contract with Swansea. Paul A. cancelled (justified?) after signing contract with Swansea. USA stay away? What do you think?
i don’t think anything has happened to Arriola other than playing the same position as Swansea’s best player.
https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/jordan-morris-injury-more-serious-than-last-acl-tear There's not much in this article but I thought I'd post it as an "update" for this thread anyway.
Morris likely won't leave Seattle but if I were him I'd consider it for no other reason than prolonging his career. I don't believe their playing surface will be kind to someone who has torn both his ACL's.
