There's finally a new HD external panorama image, taken yesterday. They're really the only way to zoom into parts of the site and see details of what's happening. The SD photos (and the live feed) is just too pixelated to see much. Anyway, the "furring strips" on the south side of the lower structure appear to be part of a system to hold what I assume is some sort of insulation batting material. That's the greenish/grayish material you see being installed in that area of the site. Perhaps it's also a mounting system for the finished, gray material that'll get installed on top of the insulation. We should know soon enough. You can see examples of that final, gray, exterior material on the west side, lower level. On the upper level of the west side you can see more of that same insulation material being installed. We've been able to see for quite a while now on the roof what I assume are the mounting brackets for the exterior roofing panels. They all look to be in place. I'm guessing we'll see those panels starting to be installed pretty soon.
And the snow has all melted on the Ohio Health PC training fields. What a difference a day makes. I very much hope they leave the construction cams up and running, and that we start to see some prep activity on those fields. It's still a construction site, but I'm hoping that that status is now limited to the actual training center building, and that the team can start using the fields soon (like April?).
Well, some exciting stuff! Yes, tickets are more expensive. Nordecke is still pretty reasonable (went up by 25%). But we had the cheapest seats in the league outside of Cincy. Part of me would love to see sell outs at max capacity. But who knows if that will even happen this year? I know 6k will be sold out. FWIW, I think the FO strategy was to push the expensive seats first. IIRC, those were the seats that they pushed with the first season ticket calls. It looks like most (but not all) of the Ritchie Rich sections are sold out. That should be good for the balance sheet. Hope things keep going in the right direction on COVID. No new variants exploding case numbers. Vaccine rollout continues getting ramped up. I saw a tool from a bit back that had Ohio at over 2 million doses administered. Like 18% of total pop with at least 1 dose. Cannot find it now. Crap. Love to see that at 50%-60% by summer/stadium opening.
CDC has us as less than 13% https://public.tableau.com/views/Va...ount=n&:origin=viz_share_link&:device=desktop
Well Im back in the season ticket club again. Cancelled our membership in 2015. Its gonna be great to be back as a regular.
They are counting different stats. CNN & my quote are talking doses administered as a % of population. CDC is likely counting # of persons vaccinated, so their number will be lower than those counting doses, as some people (6.1% of pop) have received both doses. 13% + 6% (two dosers) = 19%. Or CDC could just have older data, with the statistical differences just a coincidence. https://www.cnn.com/interactive/2021/health/us-covid-vaccinations/ https://www.beckershospitalreview.c...entage-of-covid-19-vaccines-administered.html Plus, remember 28 million nationwide have already had it. A smidge under 10% of total pop. And that number is likely low, since there is so much asymptomatic transmission. So, even being conservative, 25% of Ohioans have either had one/two shots (13%), or already had it (guessing 12%, 8% verified + 4% undiagnosed). That is still a far cry from herd immunity (75% of pop). But it is a third of the way there. Maybe a bit more.
Just went on seat viewer in the season ticket app thingy. I know others pointed out that there is no way it is accurate for total seats actually still available. But my hand count makes it even more clear that what you see is not everything. There is 0% chance that the remaining counts would look like this: Upper East - 40 available Lower East - 45 Upper south - 40 Lower South - 40 Lower West - yep you guessed it 40! Now I went fast and maybe just maybe missed a few, but no chance that is all that left - 205 + Plus whatever would still be available in Nordecke. After that little exercise, I'm guessing as I stated a few weeks ago, I will be moving to Nordecke after the first year or 2 in my seats in 113. Such a good deal to sit well stand down there. I'm old - but young at heart. 2 of my kids will be in college (or just graduating) so I'm certain they will rather be down there (likely without me) if/when they go to games. My 3rd will in HS and our current group of season ticket holders includes her old soccer friends but she quit to focus on the stupidly/infinitely more expensive sport of equestrian (anyone want buy her a horse?). But who knows maybe it will such a awesome experience/environment and the amenities so worth it we upgrade to one them fancy club levels. Maybe I'll even get my wife to enjoy it more not sitting on metal bleachers next to the fairgrounds.
The Nordecke is the most reasonably priced section in the stadium. If I didn't have to stand the entire game I would buy tickets there! Don't think my legs would let me stand the entire game anymore!
Im back in season ticket club again as well. Upper south stands...Only price point my wife would allow.
We ended up going with 4 tickets in a corner. I was going to do 2 in 113 but opted for 4 tickets in the corner for the same price. We also looked at sitting on the south end and found out the seats we were looking at were next to the visitor section. Thats when the rep told us there were seats in the corners.
Similar story here, as we weren't going to be in the Nordecke (Mrs. KG cannot handle the smoke, and we're not sure we want to stand the whole game).
That's where we are. My wife kinda wanted the corner next to Nordecke, but we may have little kids in tow with us and the South end seemed more convenient, less walking, etc., (and cheaper!)
Pull this image from one of the renderings the team did in July. Background pattern look somewhat familiar?
Not sure where this should go, but I hope the Crew cuts ties with Platform Brewing after today: https://www.columbusalive.com/story/entertainment/dining/2021/02/27/platform-beer-employees-stage-walkout-downtown-columbus-taproom/6854217002 There are many more stories going around social media, including former employees saying they were told to wipe black mold off cans of beer and to sell them to customers.
Nothing against this geometric pattern, but seats seem kinda permanent for something that could become dated rather quickly
https://www.bizjournals.com/columbus/news/2021/03/01/crew-naming-rights-new-stadium-deal.html We may continue to speculate. But one thing is clear, they don't have it nailed down yet.
