I hear you, but they probably would rather not post an FAQ where, regardless of the question, the answer is " beats shit out of us"
There was also at least one time we signed a player who had played against us in one of these competitions. Right? I vaguely remember this.
I got a call today from someone wanting to set up a video chat to go over options for the new stadium. He got off the phone fairly quickly when I mentioned it already happened.
Heard from my ticket rep "Once" last year year, early on!. Then I sent a message and asked a question about parking and the availability of close handicap parking for my wife.at the new stadium. NEVER heard back!
Got a call and email from my rep as well. Hated breaking to him I was 1500mi away and wouldn't be buying any tickets.
I’m not sure about playing against but I know Zelarayan first caught Bez’s eye during CCL with Tigres. TFC played Tigres in the quarterfinals of the 2018 tournament and LZ played both games.
Wouldn't partial season ticket plans come in after we have a schedule released? The last few years you got the first game and then picked between 3 and 9 other matches on the schedule. I am not sure how they'd sell partial season tickets without a released schedule.
Even with a schedule, you might not see them. Not knowing capacity is going to muck things up for the whole process. I would think season ticket holders get first dibs at anything. They would then only begin to open up partial or single tickets later in the year when we get closer hopefully to a full capacity.
That's true, depending on how many STM have been sold they may not be able to sell partial season tickets until capacity is expanded to 75%+ as they need to keep a portion back for group/single ticket sales.
I'm too lazy to go back through the thread, and I dont remember.... Is this a 2 game, home and away thing? I just read that Real Esteli has a synthetic turf field so that means risk to me. I might go with a more B team away to Esteli to not compromise our top guys right out the gate, and wreck them with our A team if at home. After that, were gonna be up against strong Mexican teams and or Atlanta Utd and Toronto so well probably have to field mostly A teams the rest of the way.
Here’s my thought: This would be a thread for general CCL discussion, kind of like the Other Teams News Thread. Then, for each game or pair of games we play in the CCL we’d have a stickied thread. Just my $0.02.
I hope to be back in Ohio in October - so I'll catch a game then if I can with my bro and a former coworker. New stadium!!! If time are available that is. Lol
I totally get the turf thing. But aside from a guy or two (Vito's ankle, Valenzuela's past issues, Afful at 35, maybe Molino), I'd go with mostly the A team. Word is USOC participation MAY be determined by results in the first 3 MLS games (top 8 teams get in). If so, we need that first game BADLY, as Monterrey will need the A team, so MLS games #2 & #3 will be impacted. I want the result after leg 1 so we can play more B team on leg 2 and have the A team rested for the opener. Though I might change my mind depending on what the pitch looks like.
What's this B team you're talking about? Isn't that an insult to the A- team? That "B team" would have a goalie starting with hundreds of MLS games in his back pocket. It would have potentially 4 guys who started MLS Cup. It has a two-time Golden Boot winner at striker. It has another guy with hundreds of matches in central midfield. It has speed to burn on the wings and a technical guy at the 10. You know, it's a team that could probably finish in the playoffs on their own.
I like where your head is at! But with all due respect to the 2nd team, I do not think that is a PO team. But plenty of MLS level squad players or even capable spot starters (Bush, Hairston, Williams, Francis, Kitchen, Diaz, Etienne) + some gifted youngsters (Morris, Keita, Matan) + BWP. But a real cut below Room, Afful, Mensah, Wormgoor, Valenzuela, Artur, Nagbe, Molino, Zelarayan, Santos, and Zardes. At every spot, perhaps save striker (for 90 minutes instead of 34 games, anyway). Let the starters handle business in Esteli (in my belly!), let the 2nd team handle the leg here if we have a solid edge. And then let the rested first team play the MLS opener. Or we can mix and match. But the A team needs to be tip top for Monterrey or we are in trouble. And may be anyway.
We will see more once the MLS schedule comes out. IF we get some time off at the start for CCL, the calculation changes.
I agree with you in sending the A team out in Esteli. They do need to come back with 2-3 away goals so that the A- team can finish them off here in "Historic Crew Stadium". Having said that, these are different days where we were looking at trotting out bodies instead of players for USOC or 2-leg series like this one. For some reason, I feel more confident in having BWP instead of Adi, or Kitchen instead of Alashe when the starters need the rest.
Just got an email for tickets. Was puzzled by one note in the bit about tickets: What the heck is a "frictionless" system?? I understand "mobile entry", but ...
