I'm only watching Chelsea now because of CP. I'll admit that it's tough to watch a game when you are only focusing on one player and be unbiased about things, but in the limited playing time CP has gotten under TT, I've gotten the distinct impression that he has been frozen out of the attack to varying degrees.
Poll Q: The best inference about why Christian Pulisic isn’t featuring under Tuchel is that ... a. ... he has a secret long-term injury b. ... despite his performance after the restart, he just isn’t good enough to feature in a big team in a big league c. ... he just doesn’t fit well in the Tuchel system d. ... Tuchel under-values his skill set for [insert your own reason] e. ... at Dortmund Pulisic once disobeyed Tuchel’s shouted instructions f. ... Pulisic is in a mental funk of some kind and is temporarily under-performing G. ... other
But the offense has been struggling ever since TT took over. As a matter of fact... they have not scored more than 2 goals in a game in the EPL since Dec 21st. Here are the results for Chelsea under TT: 0-0 vs. Wolves 2-0 vs. Burnley 1-0 vs. Tott 2-1 vs. Sheffield 1-0 vs. Barsley (FA Cup) 2-0 vs. Newcastle 1-1 vs. Southampton Essentially Chelsea has climbed back into the race for the Euro slots because they are not allowing as many goals... not because they are scoring them. 9 goals in 7 matches and I think they have had 3 PKs. Werner is the player I am hating on the most right now as he has had so many opportunities during this regime change and never gets benched.
Can someone recollect that last year at BVB with Tuchel and CP? Was not that the year after he burst onto the scene and started to struggle a bit with his production? I recall (maybe wrongly) that Tuchel started to not play Pulisic as much as we all thought he should be playing there? Am I misremembering?
If you're talking about Puli's last year there (18-19) then Favre was coaching then. Puli was out at times with various injuries and was replaced by Larsen (or rotated with) for a good portion of the year. Sancho was an auto starter. CP started coming back into form at the end of the year and was a starter. Playing Larsen so much ahead of Puli may have cost Favre the Bund that year.
He played in 43 games for 2323 minutes across all competitions that year, starting in 22 games. His starts were sprinkled throughout the season and he started 5 of the last 8 league games. Tuchel being a tinkerer, having to spread out time to quality players, and maybe also managing the minutes of a full season on a young player all probably had an effect on his minutes. I think Tuchel did very well with Pulisic although in some game situations he ended up at RWB.
It's late February their gaffer was fired a month ago and the new guy isn't doing much better. Their season is already defined. They aren't going to make a shock run to the UCL finals or run up the EPL they are what their record says they are at this point.
also doesn’t the schedule get a lot harder when they have not really beaten any champions league caliber sides
That was the time I remembered, yep, JBL was playing a lot at CP's expense. Thanks for jogging my memory. That was when I thought his trajectory upward started to hit a bit of a jagged line.
Puli suffers of recurring injuries. As in, more than one. That's why at 22 he's had as many injury breaks are the most injury-prone players had by age 26. The recurring injuries are: - thigh muscle strain/tear - calf muscle pain/bruise - abductor muscle tear/pain He's had those issues in both legs. The calf one is the one keeping him out now. It's possible he's facing a congenital issue with his leg muscles, something that will always prevent him to be 100% for more than a handful of games in a season. It's not unlikely he's tried to keep playing through the pain, which made him look like a sub-par version of himself.
if the boss tell you to do a certain things, and you don't follow....guess what? he'll yanked or fired your ass. so what was it? CHO think he's above TT's instructions? f***k NOOOO
No, it really doesn't. He was asked specifically about rumblings that he was going to move on this summer. The response he gave, in context of that specific question, is to shut it down -- there has been no decision about this summer. He's not waffling at all. You need to look at the actual context, not just the words he used in his ESL response which can then be twisted to mean just about anything. I agree with that last sentence, but here's reality for you and everyone in this thread... there is nothing CP will do on or off the pitch to get transferred this summer. He can't get more injured and get sold, he can't play worse and get sold, and he certainly can't play better and get sold. They can't even sell the likes of Kepa, who is a guy in a situation that is crystal clear in terms of what they should do; in fact the club and player are both probably in agreement that the initial transfer probably never should have happened in the first place, in that case. And if that can't get resolved, it should be enough evidence to understand how complicated these things can be, with so many relevant parties that all have to be somewhat satisfied with a move. CP isn't transferring anytime soon.
