That's possible, first the family issues and now the calf tightness. It's also possible that he had(has) some family issues and now some calf tightness. I will say, that if TT is just leaving him off the squad now as a tactical or performance judgement call, it carries some risk. Seems to me that, at some point, he is going to need a game fit CP.
I don't think you will get too many people agreeing with you on this opinion. I think CP is likely viewed as a secondary player by TT and will probably not feature much down the stretch unless there are injuries. He isn't the only one. They spent big money on Ziyech and he hardly sees the field. And what about the haul they paid for Kai? He isn't on the bench either. But as much as people complain about CP not seeing the field the player that gets screwed the most is Giroud. That guy scores in just about every appearance yet often doesn't get any minutes.
yanking CHO after 30 minutes for Ziyech is a heck of a statement by Tuchel. that certainly will ripple a lot. Wow
I didn’t even think Hudson Odoi was that bad. They didn’t create many decent chances, but he was involved in their best sequences. I can’t imagine the Chelsea fans liked that move very much.
I fear how this team is going to perform against Athletico... I am sensing another bashing in the knock-out stage like last season against Bayern. They are terrible at scoring in the normal run of play. Mount was fantastic... and has become my favorite Chelsea player because he reminds me a bit of Weston.... always hustling, pressing and doing the dirty work while also providing quality on the offensive side of the ball. But Werner wastes so many opportunities and the guy who always seems to score (Giroud) sits on the sidelines. Now the treatment of CHO? What was TT thinking? I could easily see this team drop out of the Euro slots and have yet another coach to start next season.
yep he was not injured. only point I could see was the one play where he did not cut the ball back to Mount and took an extra touch and try to cross it through two players and the keeper to Werner. Chelsea simply needs the one touch bang bang play in the final third and maybe felt CHO did not listen there and yanked him? but regardless CHO is not a 28 year old who can write it off. He is a kid and it might damage his psyche. Or perhaps he wanted to shock CHO. certainly not a status quo decision. that sends a message one way or the other.
Dortmund will give a young player a legit chance. But if good, that player in turn can get ridden like a pack mule. 3000 minutes in a single season at age 18 was heavy. And Pulisic didn't have the most robust physique. I like how Pep has handled Foden.
Speculation on the post game show was that TT was barking out instructions during the game and CHO was not following them.
“Bad decision making in last 20 meters” “did not create big chances today” “take better decisions” “need to show quality in one on one” “not happy with his body language .... not counter pressing ... tomorrow is forgotten” Oh boy fun times now at Stamford Bridge
Two young English lads, from the academy no less! Replaced by The German. Parliament should get involved.
Tim Howard calling Tuchel arrogant backing CHO I guess CP might be happy he was not there today he does know how to take players on one vs one seems like Ziyech and Pulisic both may be fine
Tammy was injured CHO was not clearly Tammy and CHO are friends I wonder if there is other locker room stuff going on and this is all about Tuchel taking control. going to be interesting times in London and with the press
Chelsea's sputtering offense against a mediocre opponent may be just the thing to give Pulisic a chance next week unless something really is wrong, either through injury or place in the squad..
