Not necessarily. Canada are still a disciplined team with a good defense. So, if the USA can run up the score on them, I'd say they had a good match.
I know I'm not the only one to have read into Harris and Krieger being left off the SheBelieves roster, and we definitely heard questions about it from the media. Vlatko even told us not to read into it. Now we know, it was for a different reason than assumed. According to their Instagram, they've been in the adoption process, and it just became final and they were able to bring Sloane Philipps home.
missing Buchanan & Lawrence is a big blow to them on defense. Not having Sinclair as well as her prodigy, Huitema, means they’ll probably go with their 3rd string striker, Leon, who’s only got 1 goal to her credit so far this season at West Ham. Beckie & Fleming been mostly subs at their respective WSL clubs(though same thing can be said about Rose Laevelle as Man City hasn’t shown much love for either) with Paige Bueckers ready to take the world by storm/ability to become the best basketball player ever, wonder if it’s going to take the limelight somewhat away from the USWNT & woso?(meaning= cut into the profit margins). Came from London and didn't self isolate for fourteen days as recommended, despite being a risk to spread the mutated virus. In fact she wasn't even discreet about it, calling the paparazzi to follow her to Randy's for donuts upon landing in LA. She was with at least 3 other households at her condo or rental or whatever in LA, including her baby daughter, elderly parents and 1 month old infant nephew. No one wearing masks or distancing. She technically could have been fined in LA had they been caught. It was reckless and entitled behavior. How do you know none of her other family members got it anyway? You can be a fan of someone and admit they were wrong.
So tedious to read tirades attacking public figures' personal behavior when they come from people who don't use real and full names. On this message board, we have no way of knowing anything we can be sure of regarding the Covid-19 precautions taken or not taken by people using real and full names (that includes me) or people who don't (that includes hocbz). I have no interest in either defending or attacking Alex Morgan's choices. I have friends whose choices regarding Covid-19 trouble me and no doubt my choices trouble some of them. I just don't care for anonymous moral czars.

And yeah, it disgusts me that someone would put knowingly others in danger like that. My sister is an ICU nurse in LA and my brother is a doctor. Everyone is on the brink of collapse with exhaustion there. Screw her for putting my family and everyone else she encountered in LA at risk, not to mention her own newborn daughter who barely has an immune system. It's really not that hard for this rich woman to spend christmas at home in florida with her husband and baby daughter and self isolate, rather than fly to a hotspot where the healthcare system was on the brink of collapse for vacation and to have a christmas party. So nearly half of Canada's first choice starting lineup will be missing. They do need to learn how to play without Matheson and especially Sinclair. So this isn't all bad from a development POV. Although they are missing their heir apparent striker too in Huitema.
USWNT federation player contracts are a special case. The primary contract for many is with the USSF. They are essentially on loan to whatever clubs they play for. The terms of their releases and duration are most likely dependent on the terms of the loan agreement. all allocated players in the NWSL have federation contracts, as do many of the overseas players on the USWNT, (Mewis, Lavelle, et al) i’m betting Macario has a federation contract, though the 2021 federation contracted players have not been named. Apparently players with federation contracts can pick what club to play for under loan contracts. the wiki on the subject says that Dunn and Horan opted out of federation contracts for 2021 and are contracted directly with the Thorns. The fact this is so must mean big changes in salary cap and allocation structure.
