The last time I saw my mom, at my dad's 90 birthday party, I'm pretty sure she had no idea who I was.... They were both gone less than a month later (8 days apart).
My Dad passed at 54 and my Mom a month latter at 51. Miss them both! Because of modern medicine,I am still going fairly well at 77!
No idea where to put this but Ultras has home and away Columbus Magic shirts. https://www.ultras.com/products/col...occer-jersey-ult-86926?variant=37591971594394
If some one of you interweb-savvy people has a second, I'm trying to figure out what Intrado GlobalNewswire is. Is it a legitimate news organization or a hired flack outfit or a rubber stamp for release of corporate media releases they're trying to dress up as news? Anyone ever hear of these guys?
I mean, this took not much time... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intrado ...acquired... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GlobeNewswire ...in 2018. GlobeNewswire is exactly a media press release distribution service.
Yes, I found all that easily, as you say, but since both entries rely heavily on the corporate website itself I didn't think it was particularly enlightening. But I think you're saying that what they do is take a company's press release, put it under their logo and publish it as if it were original news that, the implication is, they reported. Not particularly sleazy unless, as in the instance I'm looking at, it's used as a self-serving fake news back channel for a statement which attempts to exonerate a disgusting pedophile.
I mean, those sorts of services exist. Their job isn't to judge, it's to publish. I presume our old pal with the initials AP uses it.
So who out there owns a pellet smoker? I'm in the market for one as my wife said she would like to get me one for my birthday, but wanted to let me pick one out. I've been researching Traeger, Weber, Camp Chef, and Pit Boss. Online reviews are out there, but I feel like having feedback from people I know are real can be helpful.
I'd love to help out but I'm a caveman when it comes to smoking. Cast iron offset. Cut and season my own oak. I don't even use a crutch to cheat the stall. I'd rather start at midnight. On the other hand I got a sou vide cooker for my birthday and am having a ball figuring out what works. (So far salmon has been the best) Kind of belies the whole troglodyte thing)
I have a Traeger and love it. My brother bought one first and I followed him. Going on 3-4 years using it. Don't know much about others since everyone in my family has a Traeger except my younger brother who has a Pit Boss but no idea how it works for him. Newer models are even nicer than mine. You can certainly drop a boat of cash on one for lots of bells and whistles. But any one that has reliable pellet feed and temp controls and you'll probably be OK.
I'm on the Smoking Meats Forum and they are some of the nicest and most knowledgeable folks out there. I'd hop over there and see what they suggest. My guess is your budget will be the biggest factor over features.
I recognize the Americans-in-Europe is a great story, but I argue that the most dominant myth in US soccer is centered in #Columbus with @Save_The_Crew. I wrote about their tremendous efforts here: https://t.co/zwqKq254he 1/x— Stephen Andon (@stephenandon) February 16, 2021
I wish I had wisdom to add to the smoker convo. We have gone through two rice cookers in the nearly thirteen years together... so I treated us to a new (read: splurge) rice cooker made in Japan. Highly recommended!
Shockingly, I think that was the least word-salad-y part, if you understand the word in the general sense. It has a neutral or even positive connotation at least as often as it does a negative one. I think he was going for the positive connotation here.
Thanks for the tips and links on smokers. I ended up buying a Pit Boss Pro Series II 4-series vertical smoker, as it offers quite a bit of cooking space within a smaller footprint, which is nice when you have limited deck space. I've seen some good reviews for the Pit Boss smokers, and this one came in at half the price of the Traeger I was looking at. I'm looking to firing it up. Between this and the Weber Genesis II, I'm going to be cooking a lot on the deck this summer. https://pitboss-grills.com/vertical-smokers/pro-series-II-4-series-vertical-wood-pellet-smoker
Agreed and enjoy! Grilling on the deck.. so ready for warmer weather. You will need to provide reviews when you get the chance in the coming months.
I only use one grill...my Traeger. I have typical propane grill and a Fornetto vertical wood fire smoker/oven. But I keep them on my lower patio. haven't used the propane in over 2 years - need to just get rid of it. We like to do pizza in the Fornetto every summer. But no need for anything other than my Traeger - to grill and smoke.
Somewhat related, this was a Christmas gift: https://ooni.com/products/ooni-fyra A little pricey for a niche gadget (although you can cook things other than pizza in there), but it is excellent.
I should say that I have also cooked Pizza on my Traeger, It's just fun to fire up the Fornetto and burn wood or charcoal to cook them in it a couple of times per year. What I'm trying to say is TRAEGER, TRAEGER, TRAEGER! I'm convinced I could cook dogshit on it and it would taste good.
