I'm watching far more; particularly on the weekends. Before I'd be out and I'd watch only our games. Now I'm finding myself waking up early to catch EPL games.

Sample of 1 (obviously), but I'm watching considerably more, as I haven't really been seeing much family or friends, for several months now.

I'm watching more football when free

Meaning since I can't go out much with the kids, if I'm off or home, I'm definitely watching.

    Problem is my work

I’m watching way less, partially because of the EPL move to Peacock. I don’t like to steam matches, prefer to DVR and watch at night when my fam is asleep. Only matches I watch live are Madrid and Sporting Lisbon (streaming app). I don’t prioritize neutral matches anymore.

Did you ever say the story behind your Sporting Lisbon fandom? Or did you need a worse team to remind you RM isnt all that bad :D

Same here and it's not even close, I get more enjoyment plugging in a podcast and going for a run outside than watching a game as a neutral, for example. Ratings seem to be down across all sports, people have discovered other interests/hobbies (I know I have) and sports really are nothing without the fans.

I used to watch far more football. I watched our games, some La Liga games, EPL and Bulgarian games. I even used to watch international friendlies. Now, I only watch our games. Nothing else. I’m considering cancelling all subscriptions (except La Liga), they are a waste.

I feel like Modric could play for 3 more years, the man seems so fit.

Madrid is waiting for a signal.

Mbappe asks for time to make a decision.

Madrid is confident of having the green light if the superstar decides not to renew with PSG.

Economic crisis creating uncertainty for the player.

I hope the entire summer isn’t going to be like this with Mbappe “ will he renew or won’t he?” I’m already bored of it lol.

Certain leagues just live off the fans more than others. I watch less Premier league compared to the early 2000s because the league has far less players worth watching.

I'd watch real Madrid play the last trash, but for the rest, I have standards. Other than that if I'm not working on the computer or doing anything specific sports is always on as background noise.

It also works the other way round. I know a lot of my friends used to watch a lot of La Liga, but now that it is only available in the UK on LaLiga TV and compounded by the fact that perceived player quality has dropped, they don't bother watching it anymore.

Personally for me, player quality doesn't always equate to the quality of football, but for most fans it does.

Would be interesting to see our summer if Mbappe and Camavinga renew their contracts and Haaland stays at Dortmund.

If Camavinga extends that just means his price will go up. That is one player I'm sure will still improve tho.

I'm more worried about losing Vinicious in the Mbappe deal. I have very little doubt that Vinicious will instantly step up his game another level under the wing of Neymar. That kid will absolutely explode if he can find his finishing touch.

Mbappe reminds me a little of Michael Owen, tons of speedy and silky smooth finisher but not much more than that to his game. Still a capable game breaker but I don't think he's "the guy" we build around.

Halaand is a different story. He's a rare breed, much harder to find or replace but you have to build around him.

    Seriously

Haven't we as a club been waiting for these transfers? It would be a nightmare

    Maybe I do.

But it was more that we've seemingly been so obsessed with a very small group of players that I'm not even sure what plan B, C or D even is tbh. So just in terms of the rumors the past few years to now, it seems to be Mbappe, Haaland, Camavinga and Alaba or...*shrugs*.

I’m with you in terms of hopefully having alternate plans to build a good squad beyond one or two names. Nothing is guaranteed.

At Mbappe's age Owen was winning the Balon d'Or over the likes of Zidane, Raul and Figo. They are more or less at the same level, its just that we already know that was Owen's peak.

My point was also that unless Mbappe continues to develop and makes good career choices he could become another Michael Owen (also consider how the Madrid move derailed Owen's career).

So Camavinga signs up with Barnett of Stellar Group, to push for a contract renewal, with Rennes. Yeah, sure.
