Quite the game last night against Swindon, Swindon showed up at Home Park without their manager, who today was announced as the new manager of Salford. After 1 minute Swindon was nearly 1-0 up but a goal line clearance kept it 0-0. After 7 minutes Argyle were 2-0 up with goals from Jephcott and Edwards, by the 23rd minute it was 2-2 and in the 25th minute Jephcott put Agryle back in the lead with his 2nd of the game and his 5th of the season. In the 38th minute Smith of Swindon became the 3rd player to receive a yellow card, 4 minutes into extra time in the first half the ref stopped the game and gave Smith his 2nd yellow card probably for mouthing off, so Swindon were now down to 10 men. Should be easy for Argyle in the 2nd half. Argyle did not come out with guns blazing to take advantage of the extra man, they tried to pass and pass the ball into the net but it did not work, Swindon nearly got a equaliser and Camara for Argyle unleashed a piledriver which unfortunately crashed against the post, finally in the 89th minute Argyle were awarded a freekick about 10 yards outside the area which was taken by Connor Grant, his shot was amazing it was looking to go wide but in the last second it curled into the top corner 4-2 Argyle and game over.
It is FA Cup day this saturday and Argyle are away to Charlton, i dont give Argyle much chance in this game as Charlton are one of the hottest teams in League 1.

Tomorrow (monday) the biggest game of the season so far, home to Portsmouth, this game is on Sky tv in the UK and is being broadcast all around the world, kickoff is 7:45 pm UK time, 2:45 pm in Ontario.
Argyle should have all their players available except for Jephcott who is in Germany playing for Wales U21

Plymouth beat Charlton 1-0 and Lincoln City 2-0. In the Third Round, which is the Round of 64, they go to Huddersfield, who is 16th in League Championship. Since the Swindon game, Plymouth has struggled in League One with a draw and three losses. The first loss was 5-1, and the last game was 4-0 hosting Rochdale, who's in 18th. On Saturday they host 5th place Ipswich.

hoping we can squeak into playoffs. a comfortable midtable seems more likely which is not at all a bad achievement

Another loss and we're definitely on course for the latter. Not a bad achievement to cement a place in a new league.

Even if everyone makes up their games in hand, we're still looking very good for a playoff spot. If either of the top two can start dropping points automatic promotion could even be on the cards. Huge credit to Shoey and the boys. They've done themselves very proud already this season.

currently/ on 28th June 2022 the city of Plymouth is the largest in England fielding a League club to never to have hosted top-flight football.
