Because La Liga’s US TV deal is terrible. We all see much more Serie A and Bundesliga than La Liga. I’d give anything to reconnect with the sheer unrelenting weirdness of Ray Hudson commentary again. But I don’t get BeIN Sports or whatever carrier La Liga has now.
You can spend something like 50 bucks a month for FUBO TV but it includes a bunch of other junk i don't want to pay for.
I got the Sling Football package for $60 for the first year and then I think it is $120 next year. But it has Ligue One too. Pretty solid as I can watch Dest, Musah and Weah.
Obviously this may not work for everyone, but I easily split my Fubo package with 4 other friends and I absolutely love it. Serie A, Portugal, Spain, CL, Mexico and some other random stuff, all with super easy DVR capability. I sound like a commercial, sorry.
Sling one year deal for $60 for BeIn channels. It works well and it is good to hear Hudson once in a while. He cracks me up.
FWIW, the fans in the Blaugranas forum consider Dest a quality guy who just may be tired. You'll be hard-pressed to find any fan who thinks he's "over" as a player. https://blaugranas.es/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=229&start=35700 It's in Spanish and Catalá, of course. Use translator if you must.
https://www.espn.com/soccer/barcelo...n-barcelona-form-i-feel-unconfident-right-now Dest admits that he lacks confidence right now. Good news is that he is healthy enough to be on the squad tomorrow.... he may or may not start.... but although I value honesty I think I would rather him keep these thoughts internal.
When I tried to sign up it only offered me a free plan with highlights only. It actually works? I should try again?

A guy who's just turned 20, is in his second pro season and has just moved to another country to join a super club that's in turmoil, under a coach who's probably going to be fired and wasn't universally rated to begin with, has started to struggle. Who'da thunk that? "Form is temporary but class is permanent". As long as he keeps plugging away and doesn't let his current form get to him, he'll come back. Most likely under a new coach.
The turmoil was one of the reasons I was hesitant on the move for Dest. Yes going to Barca is hard to pass up and he had a quicker path to playing time. But this Barca team needed and still needs a cleansing.
All of this would have been reasonable to predict. The problem is he isn't at Sevilla or Valencia. He is at one of the biggest clubs in world football and that is a very unforgiving place to be. If you ain't the best (or close to) in your position in world football, you have no place at Barcelona, is what I would say if I'm a Barca fanatic. Dest is clearly not the best, or even close to the best right back in world football. He's outstanding, but top 1-5? No. Just off the top of my head and mostly EPL because I don't see the other leagues because I am too cheap to pay for ESPN+ or BEIN. Castagne TAA Kyle Walker Carvajal Wan-Bassaka Aurier All right now better than Dest. I think Sergino was a purchase that Koeman made because he could get him, and he knew him well. If someone like Xavi comes in and takes the reigns, I worry that days might be numbered for guys like Dest. The only caveat to all of this is the massive finanacial mismanagement that the Barca board has presided over which will require a little frugality in player purchases for the next few years until the Barca money machine is up and running again. With Messi leaving shortly, it might actually even be a number of years before Barca is able to solve the financial crises they are dealing with now. So the pressure on Dest to perform immediately might be a little bit less severe as they won't be able to just go out and buy 11 new Barca level players.
Dest was performing fine, with several 'man-of-the-match' quality performances, then his form dropped. Why? Presumably, it was partly physical {overuse, playing injured}; partly team 'tactics' {playing more through Alba, back on the left; general disorganization and lack of effort by others}; and partly mental/emotional {new country/language, Barca turmoil, manager at risk, Konrad stuck in YA Academy}, Dest can play at this level, and if for any reason things don't work out at Barcelona, he'll have a lot of good clubs to choose from. Yes, he still has plenty to work on, but he's at a good place to improve.
There's also the COVID factor. Spain has been exceptionally badly hit and has much stricter lockdowns than the Netherlands. That can't be good for the psychology or the acclimatisation to a new country (which reinforces the negative impact on the psychology). As for the deep cleansing, it isn't just the team and the coaches. It's the entire FO, especially the sporting director - Eric Abidal was a complete clusterf*#k
I am concerned he has already lost his spot and the confidence of the coach. Mingueza keeps getting the starts now and when Roberto comes back it will be that much harder to break back in. I have a bad feeling about Dest at Barca now. I hope I am wrong. I thought he actually played pretty well for a while and then he had a couple of less than stellar games (one poor)... but I think it is unfair if he has already been cast aside. Not even starting in the Copa? Bummer.

Does this mean he's injured or "injured"? Why are there "quotes" around "words"? What does it all "mean"?
