This would be a great thesis except most women pro soccer players don’t make ‘pro’ salaries & the top quality ones that do, make 50 times less money than their male counterparts. In France, seems like Lyon & PSG are the only clubs that pay a decent salary. And even with the rest of the ten division 1 clubs I’ve read how a lot of the female players are living in cramped, dorm style apartments on a their respective club grounds. This can get old when your nearing late 20’s/early 30’s age wise. Treating women like 2nd class citizens is why the participation rate for females is lower than you might expect; basketball has twice the participation rate in France over soccer. The absurdity of the women’s game in Europe could be best illustrated last summer in Germany; 3rd ranked Hoffenheim had an big important game vs Bayern Munich for a chance to qualify for the ‘prestigious’ Champions League. Well that coach had to miss the game cause he couldn’t get off his day job, being a mid school teacher & it was finals that week(so much for the importance of the Champions League, lol). The billionaire owner of Hoffenheim finally offered him a full time paying coaching job, but the dude declined & quit (as apparently he made more money as a junior high teacher)/Germany as well with only two teams that pay an actual pro salary(to the whole team)
I hear you, and you make good points. I think we are at an inflection point in the W game. Big clubs investing and higher public interest in the game can quickly change the salary levels in Europe. But my post was related to Macario's choice of going to Europe. She stated she wanted to play with the best and improve her game. The CL is a big part of that IMO. I believe that even if she could chose a NWSL club to play, she would still opt to go to Europe.
His reply had nothing to do with what you posted. He's just putting the boot into "Europe" as usual because someone was praising it.

OL's new signing had her first game for the USWNT yesterday. The young promise didn't have a bad game, but she needs to develop a lot. Hard to judge from 45' play, but she had a surprising bad first touch and ball control (it could be due to debut nervousness) and she was out of sync with her teammates (her first game). She showed composure (even humility for a kid that just signed with OL), good game vision, and participated in some build-up. But, IMO she will have to raise her game to secure a starting place in OL and the USWNT. I was expecting a bit more from a 21 yo player, but she comes from College soccer and will need some time to adapt to a professional level. USWNT's first-half team completely dominated Colombia and showed why they are #1 and are the team to beat in the next Olympic. Their first goal was world-class. I tuned in to watch Macario debut and end up seeing a Dunn, Ertz, and Mewis sisters clinic.
Alessia Russo British but played for North Carolina Tar Heels came to Man United to play for them and scored goals before she injured herself, some players can adapt quickly. She was suppose to stay for one more year at college but COVID disrupted that plan and she change her mind at the time.
That was her first game in over a year. The last game she played in was the NCAAW College Cup final in like September of 2019.
Granted, It is more than half...but yet I do recall one interview of Amandine Miquel (Stade de Reims' coach). She said her players aren't all fully professional. All French clubs' coaching staff are fully professional that for sure
Soyaux, Fleury and Issy are the 3 non professional clubs as mentioned in the debate earlier this season about the 6M€ given by the LFP to the D1 Arkema teams.
I don't know sir, regardless of what you mentioned it seems some players are far benefiting from it. here is the interview of Amandine Miquel head coach of Le Stade de Reims this sentence precisely: "J’ai des filles qui vont bosser de 8h à 18h et qui débarquent à l’entraînement après, témoigne Amandine Miquel, entraîneure du Stade de Reims. Alors forcément, il y a des inégalités, elles progressent moins vite que celles qui sont à temps plein sur le foot ou qui arrivent fraîches à l’entraînement. Les écarts se creusent et elles n’y peuvent rien" (easy to "google" translate) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Matchday 13 Highlights FCG Bordeaux v. Yes professional teams as in teams attached to a men professional team. Issy, Soyaux and Fleury are not attached to a men pro team. Fleury have a men team in National 2 ie amateur team. That's why those pro teams got the money from the men LFP and not the 3 other teams.
French Cup results: Issy 2 Montpellier 1 Fleury 0 PSG 2 Bordeaux 5 Le Havre 0 Guingamp 3 Soyaux 0 Dijon 1 PFC 1 (pso 4-2) Reims 0 Lyon 5 2 upsets with MHSC and PFC losing. The six winning teams are through to the last 16 where they will meet the 10 teams coming from the amateur section of the draw ( 10 teams). Amateur football is still suspended in France which means only the D1 teams are allowed to play with D2 teams only allowed to have their professional players train.
Matchday 14 has two games postponed due to Covid-19 for the first time this season: Dijon v Bordeaux and PFC v Reims. Those games will be played 6 March.

Curious situation in D1 Arkema as GPSO Issy 92 boycotted training yesterday in protest of the manager's sacking. Yacine Guiesma was backed by the players but was sacked last Thursday. They are currently in 11th place out of 12. The coach has been there for five years and took the team from DH to D1 The players are also asking to get rid of the sporting director Alexandre Barbier who has brought in the new coach and sacked Guiesma as part of the Elite project. Camillo Vaz ex PSG is the new coach, he was there before the Qatari money pushed PSG women towards professional football. Next is PSG v Issy in the League, PSG won the game 14-0 earlier in the season.
D1 Arkema is back on Saturday Bordeaux - Le Havre Montpellier - Dijon Paris FC - Guingamp Fleury - Reims Soyaux - Lyon PSG - Issy
