I have rarely seen two players as out of sync with one another as Chilwell and Pulisic. They are like oil and water out there.

Mount being so shite must be why both Lampard and England manager Southgate keep picking him eh? Thank god you know better than them both.

Goodbye Lampard. I think, long term, a new coach will be better for CP and will likely get more from him.

I think Tuchel will be fine for CP.

I love Mount. But he's like a quicker undersized Clint Dempsey. He's a fine player, but I don't think he's Champions League talisman quality. Would love to be wrong on that.

Also the only thing Lampard is going to be picking out next week is crunchy or smooth peanut butter at the grocer

Mount seems to be losing it out there. I expect a yellow in the last 10 min.

Mount is nothing like Clint Dempsey. That's a really random comparison. He's more like an English Marco Verratti.

It would be really cool to see Pulisic play for a decent team some day.

yeah it ain't good, but the context of how bad the team has played explains that more than his individual play.

It becomes clearer and clearer every match. Ziyech was a necessary signing but, they did not need Werner or Havertz. They do not have the squad or tactical set up to get the best out of either of them.

I don't know that I've ever seen a manager regress this much from year one to year two after spending a ton of money on new players. Who will want to hire Lampard after this?

Yup. He’s been one of their “better” players but that shirt number carries with it an extra responsibility to create and score goals when your teams it. He hasn’t done that.
Let’s hope they sack frank and get a fresh start.

I know I've shown my cards earlier, but do not undersell the strength of this Leicester City team. Justin is playing a better fullback than 66 for Liverpool right now. Castagne had a blinder, wore Pulisic in his back pocket all night. Barnes and Maddison are tremendous in the midfield and Ndidi is an outstanding 6. Fofana came from out of nowhere and is one of the best central defenders in the league right now. They were miles better as a team than Chelsea were today, and Frank is lucky it was 4 or 5 nil.

I agree that Pulisic and Chilwell are not compatible on the left. The gameplan was just either not working or completely nullified by Rogers' tactics. There was absolutely nothing working for the Chelsea attack. I don't remember a serious challenge for Schmeichel to deal with. The Chelsea d on the second goal was just laughable.

Frank has a crap ton of work to do to make this Chelsea side dangerous, if he is even allowed to do so. I don't think at this stage in his career he's the right man for this job. He's a Championship level manager at best. The announcers tonight said that they've lost against everyone above them in the table, which suggests to me that he can't compete against the better managers right now tactically. He certainly couldn't match wits with Rogers tonight. He looked way out of his depth.

From a CP standpoint, he looked out of synch just like they all did. He was pretty toothless in his attacks, outside of the times he was driving and fouled. I have a feeling that is the playbook against him. If he's driving at goal with ball at feet, foul him aggressively. Like Hack-a-Shaq, without the free throws.

I don't think they are sacking Frank anytime soon.

If they lose a bunch more in a row, maybe. They have a run in late Feb in which they could easily lose all of them -- Shampton, Atletico, Manure, Everton, Leeds, Atletico, Liverpool. Without getting some results there, I could see him being gone.

At the same time you don't want to can Frank just to bring in a new guy for that run. Talk about throwing the new guy to the wolves.

There's some winnable games between now and then for Frank.

I think the NBC commentators got it right. One team plays together, understands their roles, defends as a team, and generally plays for each other. The other team did not. They don’t see opportunities. They don’t seem to understand what the other guy is trying to do and how to complement that. That is either a mismatch of talent or bad design and preparation. Both are coaching issues. And as the commentators said, there is no fair ward progress on these issues; hence the reporting that Frank will be fired.

On every message board there are people who reflexively defend the coach and blame the players. That doesn’t fly here. Like another poster said, I would really like to see Pulisic on a different team, even if they do bring a new coach. These guys don’t seem to like one another, they don’t have any real rhythm together, and they certainly don’t seem to play in a complementary way. They are less than the sum of their parts. This is the Pulisic thread, and I would like to see him somewhere far away from Ben Chilwell.

    GQ isn't playing like GQ.

But I also tend to avoid focusing too much on individuals when collectively no one is playing up to their talent, the team is completely disjointed and in no way prepared. It's pretty much 11 guys going at it solo.

I guarantee with a change in managers most players including Puli immediately look better.
