Last I heard Didi was close to a new deal. We are better off bringing back him then signing Graveson. With Alonso and Gerrard our two best players and Welsh making progress in the reserves, central midfield is the last position we should be spending money on. Not that Everton would ever sell us their best player.

Tell me if I'm wrong, but isn't Edu a defender? The only player we've signed in this transfer window is Pellegrino (a defender). If Rafa has a list of the types of players he needs, the bottom of his list would be a defender. We only have so much money to spend, and Moro's price seems to be going up daily. Plus, I think Edu is injured.

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

    Edu is a central midfielder.

Couldn't disagree with you more. Didi has been SOLID over the past few years but Gravesen is one of the best central midfielders in the Premiership. He is a more complete player than Didi and is a threat to score whenever he has the ball. Didi probably won't even score this decade.

Aren't Gravesen and Didi slightly different players?

Either way, if our entire squad is fit, Gravesen would not make the first team. Gerrard and Alonso are both far better players. Its actually a pointless argument because there is absolutley no chance of Everton selling him to us. Everton's number one goal for this season is to finish ahead of Liverpool. They would sell him to any other club in the world before us. And if Graveson cares about Everton and their fans at all, he would never play for Liverpool.

This thread gets sillier and sillier by the moment. He bought a defender, we want Morientes for the missing striker, and we need an additional GK as cover. I think that will be the extent of our dealings. All the rest is tabloid creations, false trails, and disinformation designed to obscure our true intentions. :D

Just what we need. We could let him rot on the bench like Biscan is currently doing at this moment.

I doubt that Palace will be giving up any players in this transfer window. I for one believe Palace can stay up with the side they have. There seems to be such a great chemistry on that team that I doubt they will do anything to break it.

Routledge/Pennant would be good signings, but do we NEED somebody on the right now? Probably not. Although I'm not a fan of Garcia/Nunez, I'm willing to give them a full season to prove some value.

If we don't succeed in buying Morientes/Anelka, lets go for Andy Reid. He would be a tremendous asset to us, and would cost no more than 5m. We could then adjust our lineup to be a bit more offensive minded. As well as putting some pressure on Kewell and giving us more versatility.

Right...if we fail to get an experienced international striker with a proven scoring record, the best thing to do is splash out a ridiculous sum on an unproven kid playing for a struggling Championship side.

It does seem the logical thing to do.

He has been outperforming Duff in their internationals recently, which is no easy feat.

But this is a moot point now as Mori is coming.

    Doesn't mean much, in truth.

And he is exactly what we need.

Who wouldn't find it funny if it turns out that the money we payed for Moro helped Real Madrid buy Gravesen. We'll always be superior to Everton. :D ;)
