We don't score in 3 straight games and go from 1st to 4th. I think it's more serious than a slump now.

    Late with the PK done

United will be happy. Defensive time wasting game that got a point.

From about 75' or so, for me this game was setting itself up to be a carbon copy of too many games under Ferguson with a late scrambled winner, taking all 3 points. To me, Liverpool never looked like winning this whereas, uncomfortably, United did.

    United will be the happier.

Trying to find a silver lining:
FABINHO and Henderson were great. Becker too.
    Tiago was good.
We didn't lose and gift them 3 points.
    Jota will be back soon.
    That's about it really.

Jota really needed. We have absorbed Virgil's loss great, but have nothing on the bench when the front 3 are misfiring.

We have forgotten how to score ffs.

Am I the only person who finds it odd that our defense has all the injuries but it's the attack that is suddenly anemic?

A thoroughly disappointing match but this could have worse— the skanks came for a point and got it. A better (or more ambitious) side would have come away with all the points. That's why Solskjaer Man U is not contenders without the refereeing decisions going its way.

We’re in a dreadful run of form, there’s no doubt;; there’s no redeeming quality at all to Firmino and Salah’s play at the moment. Drop them to the bench for the midweek— surely we can’t be any worse? Alexander Arnold is also unfit— he was blowing out of his arse by the 60th minute and we could have conceded when he brain-farted..

Klopp has some major decisions to make.

One more Silver lining- we've won 3 out of 9, and are only 3 points off first. If, and that's a big if, the front 3 start firing again, we'll be OK.

I thought they played pretty well, actually.

The problem was dropping points to Fulham, Shampton, WBA, Newcastle, etc. It's always going to be the problem if you have title aspirations.

Think the goals will be coming back sooner rather than later.
It's interesting that now we immediate go into a do-over in the cup...

You're right. Maybe the lack of goals and chronic, poor decision-making in the final third is colouring my judgment.

The title is still well within our grasp. But it is slowly, ever so slowly, slipping away.

Our best midfielders are playing in defense, so our midfield isn’t as good. Our fullbacks are more reluctant to get forward. Van Dijk and Gomez had the pace that allowed them to play further up the pitch and neither of them were scared to be left one on one with Rashford or Martial. It all impacts the type of chances we are able to create.

But today, I think the main problem was that the front 3 are out of form. Firmino was particularly poor. It would be great to have Jota as an option right now. And starting Shaqiri meant that there wasn’t anyone who could change things from the bench.

City are still the only team capable of running away with it. If they go on a winning steak, I might start to panic.

But since the title is still within our grasp it would be flat out wrong to not sign a centerback. It’s not often that you get to be the best team in the world. This season cannot be allowed to slip away.

It’s hard to wrap your head around. We then added Thiago and Jota (who are both brilliant) to that team, and we find ourselves where we are now.

Oh for sure we're not firing up front ,RB but I still can't help thinking much of it is a knock on effect of our centre half problem at the back. Two of our best mf'rs pulled out of mf into def which changes the whole dynamic in the middle. Normally we're very good at forcing turnovers and breaking up plays early and tend to create a fair # of chances that way. But of late even with Thiago the mf has looked a bit sluggish and out ideas in the attacking third. It doesn't help that Jota is also out.
Plus Trent has been off his game since he had covid . So much of our attack starts with the fb's and that too has been lacking recently.

But for whatever reason we've decided not to sign a cb this window and I think it's a major error. Our two best are out long term , the third can't stay fit for more than a couple games , it's disrupted our mf into the bargain .

We better be careful before the top 4 slips out of our grasp. And before anyone thinks I’m being hyperbolic - this is just a weird frikken season.
