Firmino could have slotted in Mane, a couple other half chances could have been made better by 1 more pass. The final ball just hasn't been there, has it.
Story of the last few matches. We do look vulnerable to breaks due to silly giveaways and foiuls but we were largely in control.
Thiago in there alongside Hendo and Fabinho gives them a really reliable foundation, all of them smart, all of them can hit all kinds of passes, it's really been good in possession. Just need those front 3 (or the fullbacks) to hit a great ball or two to unlock things. Shaqiri too has been very good as a possession oriented AM. Quite pleased so far. Defense has held a strong line and adjusted well when called upon. Going well.
Honestly, Fulham looked better against LFC. To be fair have, ManU displayed a couple really amazing counter sequences. LFC eed to snuff those out a little better, perhaps through positioning or just general awareness, and avoid giving dumb fouls in dangerous areas. Apart from those things... United doesn't look likely to score do they.
So the ref blew the whistle for HT 5 seconds before the extra minute was up... and Mane was through on goal.
Need to get Thiago up the pitch more. Need to get Shaq chances to shoot from distance. Need to control our shots. Need a proper fukking referee!
