This may come as a shocker.. But the terrorist wing of the government said on Newsmax that she’ll file articles of impeachment on Biden on Jan 21.

And, of course, the ride on Air Force One worked. Graham is now back firmly on Team Trump and is demanding that Biden stop the impeachment process and move on.

For Presidents their number of impeachments equals their number of marriages. Why should Trump be different.

Someone needs to ask Lindsey, "Since every president is subject to the laws of the land, will you vote for impeachment if Donald Trump attempts to circumvent those laws by pardoning himself within the next week? If you can't agree to even that Lindsey, you will be showing yourself to be a complete hypocrite, as you have many times before."

And tomorrow, when Biden comes out with a strong speech, Graham will flop to the other side. He must be so confused right now.

I'm sure the Senate will be more than willing to give him an opportunity to pop in and be more than willing to let him speak... Under oath.. For 12 hours.

Indeed. In fact, if I were the Democrats, I'd consider having Trump be the only witness.

They can run separate investigations of the entire incident (through a bipartisan commission,Senate and House hearings, etc), but let the Senate impeachment trial consist only of Trump describing and defending what he did on Jan. 6 and the days leading up to it.

And if Trump manages to avoid testifying, he and the GOP will have no basis for complaint if the trial then stretches on longer while other witnesses are brought in to testify to the President's conduct.

Dude & his wife down the block just had a COVID baby. His 3rd girl. As another friend said after having 3 girls within a few years in the Aughts when I said "that's some major college costs." He said "Nevermind that. Imagine my birth control expenses if they're anything like their mother!"

I have some family friends that are nothing if not consistent with their kids. Growing up, their generation was all boys. When one of the boys first daughter was born, I joked with their dad, now a grandpa, that this generation will be all girls. He half jokingly said don't even think it.

    I'm 5 for 6 so far. :D

First Amendment- one House's "incitement" is an-ex President's "free speech."

Note, NO authority is cited, for anything raised.

    Actual points:

Answer 1-Trump is no longer President, so he cannot be "removed."

Answer 2-It is denied that the 45th President engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the United States.
Also, Trump is a private citizen, so the Senate has no jurisdiction over him.

Answer 3- It is denied that the 45th President of the United States ever engaged in a violation of his oath of office.
As the present proceedings are moot and thus a nullity since the 45th President cannot be removed from an office he no longer occupies, Averment 3 is irrelevant to any matter properly before the Senate.

Answer 4- It is admitted that after the November election, the 45th President exercised his First Amendment right under the Constitution to express his belief that the election results were suspect

Answer 5- It is admitted that President Trump addressed a crowd at the Capitol ellipse on January 6, 2021 as is his right under the First Amendment to the Constitution and expressed his opinion that the election results were suspect...

Answer 6- It is denied that the phrase “if you don’t fight like hell you’re not going to have a country anymore” had anything to do with the action at the Capitol as it was clearly about the need to fight for election security in general, as evidenced by the recording of the speech.

Answer 7 (Raffensperger phone call)- It is denied that the word “find” was inappropriate in context, as President Trump was expressing his opinion that if the evidence was carefully examined one would “find that you have many that aren’t even signed and you have many that are forgeries.” It is denied that President Trump threatened Secretary Raffensperger.

Answer 8- It is denied he threatened the 9 integrity of the democratic system, interfered with the peaceful transition of power, and imperiled a coequal branch Government. It is denied he betrayed his trust as President, to the manifest injury of the people of the United States. Rather, the 45th President of the United States performed admirably in his role as president, at all times doing what he thought was in the best interests of the American people.

Legal Defenses (I am paraphrasing these):

    1. Lack of Jurisdiction, as Trump is out of office.

    2. See No. 1.

    3. Any action would be a bill of attainder (an act to declare someone guilty without trial or due process).

    4. First Amendment-Free Speech!!!!!!!!!

    5. The House deprived Trump of Due Process.

    6. First Amendment-Free Speech!!!!!!!

    7. House tried to cram multiple offences into a single count.
Because the Article at issue here alleges multiple wrongs in the single article, it would be impossible to know if two-thirds of the members agreed on the entire article, or just on parts, as the basis for vote to convict.

    8. Complaining that Chief Justice is not presiding.
Personally, I have a problem with that, as well. I would prefer Roberts was there, but I understand why he is not.

Politico reports that Schumer doesn't want witnesses. (Politico sucks at perspective because they are 100% about access journalism. But they're great at this kind of intentional fake leak because they are 100% about access journalism.) Schumer believes it will prolong a trial that will inevitably lead to Trump's acquittal.

On the one hand, I get it. OTOH, literally 10s of millions of Americans sometimes have to work extra hard because of unusual crisis conditions at work. Those rich lazy ********ers in the Senate can do it too.

I’d like to see this drag on and hopefully members of the #seditioncaucus get implicated

Benghazi dragged on for years. This was in the homeland against the very seat of our government with the intent of overturning an constitutional process

OK, but in one key particular Benghazi =/= the impeachment trial.

Benghazi involved time allotted to committee meetings. Impeachment involves time allotted to the whole senate.
