Atletico just signed someone to fill a position they need, this is a serious team that’s trying to win. 🔴⚪ ¡ #BienvenidoDembélé ! Brighton putting up a decent fight against Manchester City. Quite the luxury for the Citizens to be able to sub in Sterling. Despite their status in the table, they're probably the deepest team in Europe
Meanwhile taking emergency tax breaks to battle the pandemic, cutting everybody's wages, slashing their bonuses and punishing Diego Costa with a multi million fine if he joins a team in the CL. A great institution.
Most teams are digging in to battle the pandemic, that includes borrowing, and cutting wages. Not sure where you going with that. My point is they could have sat on their hands because they have options to cover Costa’s loss but they getting Dembele shows they’re not playing around this year.
Goal from Frenkie de Jong assisted by Griezmann. Looks like we might have a Super Cup Clasico if we win tomorrow
If they can't pay the players they have now maybe they shouldn't sign new players (now or this last summer)
If they went ahead with the signing then I’m sure they can pay them. We’ve asked our players to take a pay cut and apparently we still plan on making some signings this coming summer.
Harry Kane goal!! What a cross though from Reguilon#COYS | #THFC | #Tottenham https://t.co/GrOkdoJ8qF— Spurs On Tap Podcast (@SpursOnTap) January 13, 2021
Difference there is that what we do this summer has little to do with this season. What we do and what they're doing is not even remotely the same thing.
What do you mean they’re not remotely the same? Both clubs have asked their players to take a wage cut, and both club I’m sure have requested loans to cover for financial losses that wouldn’t have otherwise been had there not been a pandemic. And it’s a safe bet to say that our situation isn’t going to be much different in the summer as COVID seem to be here to stay. And as I said I’m sure if Atletico couldn’t pay the guy they wouldn’t have signed him, Costa’s gone so he takes up that slot both physically and fiscally and they got him on a loan. Not sure what exactly you’re arguing here.
Pathetic penalties by Sociedad. Missed 3 penalties. But Sociedad is a pathetic team, so no surprises there.

[emoji23] Maybe he's really bored in France.
Hence why i said in the Haaland discussion that this is the worst Bayern side in recent years. Sane hasn't been the slam dunk Bayern hoped so far either, feel like he returned back to action months before he actually should.
Have we or are we going to sign anyone this season? No? Ok. Have Atletico signed anyone or are going to? Yes? There's the difference. What happens next season has no bearing on today. If you ask your players to take a paycut and ask the government for help while you sign new players you're doing something that everyone should be against.
Football and football fans operate on a completely different plane of thinking. Winning > being morally responsible.
