Since she is already retired (if not dead) DC United wouldn't have to fund her 401(k).

He will get support from the FO to build a team and a staff. So it works for him.

I'll be positively stunned if it's anyone other than Ashton. They have to view 2021 as a heavily revenue compromised season and they're already on the hook to pay everyone. Ben for his back office job, Ashton and the rest of the remaining staff. I can't fathom our house poor ownership is going to want to pay 2 coaching staffs, especially one that isn't going to be too keen on coming in under the median as well as coughing up a transfer budget.

Someone make an Ashton '21 campaign sign.

How nice of it was for TFC to take Armas off our hands and save our ownership from an epic shit mistake.

I'd have taken Armas over Ashton. I'd take screaming shit-flinging monkey over Ashton (though they could be one and the same as I've never seen both in the same place at the same time).

And yet to my complete surprise the team performed much better under Ashton than under Ben last year. They were much more aggressive on the attack, and seemed to have a plan. Nevertheless, I'm afraid we will stagnate under Ashton, in part because we will be unlikely to lure quality players to our roster.

And it wasn't really that different, except in some poeple's minds - after 3 games, you couldn't tell the team from the same-old one.

So, we agree - I'm not sure how that makes me feel. He was our assistant coach in the early aughts but he does have Galaxy stank on him but he was assistant and interim USMNT coach.

Mixed emotions on all fronts. Kind of like my mother driving off a cliff in my Lexus. I think that we'd be apt to fire Armas faster than Ashton, but the reality remains, our ownership doesn't have to 2 dimes to rub together, so we get the coaching staff they're already obligated to pay.

    ..Don't get used to it...........................:D;)

The problem with Sarachan is he would be managing with this ownership group.

True - but as a coach with pedigree I would expect more from him than from Ashton. His experience with NC probably prepared him for our ownership group.

I don't know how I feel about Sarachan. Hes basically been a coach for under 50 years and doesnt have much to show for it.

I guess one good thing i think he doesnt mind playing young players.

I am pretty sure you are being sarcastic but just in case others don't know:

If I am counting correctly, he has more MLS Cup rings and has been to more MLS than anyone else in league history - at least 5 wins in at least 8 appearances as an asst and head coach. (May be Agoos has has more due to his time w/ the Quack)s. Sarachan has at least 2 Open Cups in I think 5 appearances and teams he has coached have won several Jock Straps cups (err, you know, that star trek coffee cup award).
