Interesting article. I wonder if bands would be a good way to increase strength in a 14 year old boy who is not as far along in puberty as most of the kids he plays against (he plays high level soccer where many teams seem to handpick the biggest kids). I don't think weight training is recommended until you have gone through puberty but these bands might be a good option.
