They'll sit on it until after 1/20 and then it won't be an issue.

No. You're talking about a group of people that work together for long hours and in very close quarters. I can assure you that the officers and NCOs know who in their units are trustworthy and which aren't...

if you really think that's the basis on which troops will be selected for a critical assignment, all I can say is God help your military.

I don't really understand. Which "troops" would be deployed at a presidential inauguration?

LOL. No. That isn't how the units being selected will be chosen, but that's largely going to be how the 'review' will go. There isn't going to be enough time to do an independent review of each soldier assigned to DC.

I've been wondering this, and I'm wondering how Cotton's military experience is effecting his decisions.

There are plenty. You don't see most, but we get the occasional request to change usernames because they have the actual name of the person.

There is a level of privacy soldier don't have that us citizen do have. This makes it a bit easier to find some information. Beyond that, NetSec is really good at finding hidden info.

There's a difference between units and individual soldiers within the unit.. I'd imagine the units being selected for Inauguration Day are, as a whole, going to be pretty high performing for the role they will be assigned to. But the DoD said they'll be screening the soldiers within those units to make sure they don't have any sympathies for the groups they are most likely going to come up against and whether that will interfere with their ability to perform their duties.

This is very worrying. I mean, they're basically saying that they aren't putting past Trumpers the idea of committing an actual coup through the help of some traitorous military?

Actually, it is pretty easy. One way is through social medias, most of these guys are on social media and one will find easily. Each of the corps have their own intelligence and I am sure they have monitored troops.

It ain't that hard. I only had 15 people under me and I knew which two I wouldn't trust for a mission like this (though for one of the guys, it was because he was just so goddamned sucky at his job) and I know which 6 I would trust with my life. I would imagine any lieutenant could do the same for his troops and only assign members from the latter group.
