Hopefully we can buy an authentic this year or get the sleeve patches/championship star on a replica. Honestly would've bought this year's primary if either was an option. EDIT - I responded to that twitter thread asking if we're getting authentics and the response I got leads me to believe I'll be throwing more money at this damn team again next year. Yes and yes and yes.— ⚽️ Kyle Sheldon (@kylesheldon) January 9, 2021
FWIW, I can't remember a single time a team carried over a kit after a logo change. (though no other team has ever done three identities in four seasons)
Yeah, that was super annoying this year. I think the team kit men just added made sure they got added to the stock kits the players had. The players were wearing the same jerseys as what was in stores otherwise.
Yeah - I know other teams have been able to get their championship stars added to replicas but usually that was due to demand, which obviously there wasn't a lot of from our fanbase this year.
I'm sure someone out there could probably do it if you acquired one. They stopped using the holographic stars on kits so one should be easy to find. The fact that we couldn't get the MLS25 patch was more annoying to me. The shirts look empty without them.
Total speculation on my part but this is 100% confirmation that our secondary will be red this year. Again, I have no way of knowing anything more than the SVP of Marketing for the team thinks that I will like the secondary kit this year, but I absolutely objectively know that it will be red based on this tweet. You’ll want the secondary kit I think 😍— ⚽️ Kyle Sheldon (@kylesheldon) January 9, 2021
Yeah, I thought about that but the added cost, time and hassle didn't seem worth it, even with the jerseys marked down to $45 - not having the sleeve patch was just as bad, it's a nice way to 'date' the shirt without splashing the year across it. I like the fit of the authentic better anyway, so I'm probably better off with the 2021 kit.
that might make sense, but if we have a dark blue and a red, that is two dark colored kits and the league is trying to not have that. so, unless there is some creative shorts swapping... a white top with red (or whatever color) stripe might be what we see based on that.
https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbi...YdSLE8Zy8vWgtUokCVCdSJEgEu-O9GFHg&__tn__=EH-R I still say the Chicago skyline an artist can make this look better on top with a small old logo and Chicago fire fc.
I know they've said they're trying not to have that, but they've had it before (us, New England, Dallas- hell Toronto had red and dark gray one year) and recently, so we'll see. For me, the blue secondaries we wore 2012-2014 were one of our best looks, so if we can replicate that -even with the current logo- I'd be happy.
They talked about eggshell white with navy and "flag blue" trim as secondary jersey colors when the rebrand was launched, but that talk kinda faded out. Wouldn't shock me if that's what we see this year.
Nice - I'd prefer anything other than a white secondary, but maybe eggshell white will be different enough to stand out. Either way, let's get crazy with it- might as well take advantage of the lame-duck logo to get as off-brand as possible with the kits and see if they can make something cool.
"Anything"? I saw a few shirts in the insurrection on Wednesday worse than the white second jersey. [emoji30]
Seeing Union Omaha and Tulsa FC, Wolff knows how to make really cool looking bird logos, and the wing design of LAFC is really well integrated. I'm sorry, but there is one clear answer to what should be on the logo, and there should be no debate. A symbol that will resonate with all of Chicago and the world. The Fire logo needs piping plovers.
New Logo HONORING OUR HISTORY! or the distillation of failure: or best of all (any picture with Alex AND those abortion jerseys AND Hauptman in a pink shirt is a good picture to me!) or worst of all I am a terrible person and I hate myself right now. I deserve to burn in hell (glad hell is a construct and not a real place). No, I have not been drinking...yet.
Those are okay birds, sure, but I’ve seen enough of these aggressive bastards acting like assholes on the lakefront to know that if we want a bird that represents Chicago, incorporated into our badge, it has to be these ********ers
