There is a joke about how each nation has its own hell. However people can wander and select the hell of their choice.

The chinese hell has faceless devil squads whipping and burning 24-7.

The German hell works 3 seamless shifts that time their hits with uncanny precision. Their burn marks are all the same location and depth.

[insert sh!thole country name here] has a long line of condemned souls waiting to enter. Boandikramer taps the last on the line and asks why are there so many souls waiting there. Isn’t it the same as the other countries’ hell?

“In principle yeah. But their furnace doesn’t work, the whips were stolen, and the devils just clock in and spend all the day browsing their phones”

Shame that the decent people in the Republican party are overshadowed by this other group...

They wouldn't be overshadowed if there were more of them.

A theoretical construct is always going to be overshadowed.

That's kind of the point: the very notion of being overshadowed implies they are in the minority. Too many currently in the Republican party who blindly believe in or are simply intimidated by Trumpism (and therefore just feel they have no choice but to fall in line).
Definitely have lot of time and respect for those few who do speak up and have done so for some time. Opportunistic vultures like McConnell for instance most definitely do not belong in that group.

I wish this sounded like great fantasy to me. Unfortunately, it does not. Defense stonewalling Biden transition team doesn’t provide much more comfort.

I am trying to end the year on a positive and zen like mood.....This article as interesting as it is does not help though....The level of despise, contempt and utter disgust with this SOB will take a while to go away.

New York Times: “Throughout late summer and fall, in the heat of a re-election campaign that he would go on to lose, and in the face of mounting evidence of a surge in infections and deaths far worse than in the spring, Mr. Trump’s management of the crisis — unsteady, unscientific and colored by politics all year — was in effect reduced to a single question: What would it mean for him?”

“The result, according to interviews with more than two dozen current and former administration officials and others in contact with the White House, was a lose-lose situation. Mr. Trump not only ended up soundly defeated by Joseph R. Biden Jr., but missed his chance to show that he could rise to the moment in the final chapter of his presidency and meet the defining challenge of his tenure.”

“Efforts by his aides to persuade him to promote mask wearing, among the simplest and most effective ways to curb the spread of the disease, were derailed by his conviction that his political base would rebel against anything that would smack of limiting their personal freedom. Even his own campaign’s polling data to the contrary could not sway him.”

My prediction, at this point, I don't think more than 4O R's will just go through the motions and not object the EVs count on Jan 6. It is a race to the bottom now.

I have said, and continue to expect, that there will be a major increase in organized violence against minorities, chiefly African Americans but possibly including public health officials, during the summer of 2021.
This may include violence against politicians who try to use police powers against these groups..
My fear is that a number of LEOs and militarily - trained personnel will join these groups .
This is all worse than some post election Kayla ended.
Racists in this country believe it is time for a second ,nationwide,Redemption.

I meant to pose the question earlier...whether the majority of the majority in the senate, and a majority of the minority in the house...would vote for this shit. I thought it would be close in both. Sadly I was wrong. It will be a blowout on both.

do not ever tell me I need to respect “conservative” voices anymore. They vote for traitors. They vote for people who don’t want others to have a vote. They only want to participate in open democracy if they can win.
******** every single one of them.

1 - Why does everybody keep freaking out about how Individual One will respond? He is a ********ing coward.
2 - The Insurrection Act will be dealt with by the enlisted military personnel. It has been clear for months that they are very reluctant (with a few notable exceptions) to acting against civilians. Hell, they were absolutely pissed at being used by Individual One's walk across the street. They also know that Biden is the incoming President, and has professed respect for the military.
3 - Well, this White House has been run on 4 years of insanity.

Yeah, Liberty Prime is full of great quotes. I believe he says this in both Fallout 3 and 4.

My favorite is "Warning: Subterranean Red Chinese compound detected. Obstruction depth: five meters. Composition: sand, gravel, and Communism".

Sorry for the self quote but I wanted to follow up on this.

We collectively need to stop asking ourselves why Republican law makers fear Trump. They don’t. They’re as devoid of morals and principles as he is.

To call them cowards...to say they fear him, or fear their base if the contradict him, ascribes to them a moral righteousness that, if not for this cowardice, they’d somehow do the right thing. That moral righteousness does not exist. They do not deserve the benefit of being called cowards.
