Over the couple of months that this guy has been around, he's asserted (and then attempted to defend) his uninformed opinion as fact consistently enough to make me think he's 12, so I don't waste my time responding. YMMV
I mean Guaranteed Rate Field rolls of the tongue just as easily as US Cellular Field. The Stadium isn't one of the five biggest problems with the team/organization. The fact that it keeps getting brought up as a problem is really stupid.

Well, I suppose that is better than the strategy of the past 45+ years (well, in those years when the league existed), which, as far as I can tell: NASL: "Do you have some money and a place to play?" Potential New Team: "Yes." NASL: "You're in. Thank you very much."
I may be missing something but who required negotiating on a place to play? I'm too lazy to go through each team's home pitch but I don't recal a glaring problem with home fields.
There was Rayo's strange missing field scandal and the championship game venue didn't even meet D2 standards.
Rayo certainly are comical Personally I wish NASL would have taken the championship game away from Cosmos when they presented the field of choice for the championship. I know there was a scheduling conflict with their normal field, but 2k attendance SELL OUT was absolutely shameful. Nothing like making you look like a minor league like showing that. The game should have gone to Indy at that point, which would have sold out at 11k+. But I will say a "place to play" wasn't negotiable like you suggested. The field for Rayo was still there but the game turf that was placed on for every home game was held hostage by a minority owner who was tired with the lack of communication with the majority owners. Cosmos had a home stadium, simply couldn't play there due to a conflict so they had to get a 2nd option for the championship. Each team has a home field that was available for home games.

The "principle owner" is named: Bruce Gordon Gardiner McLean Merivale-Austin That is both the more British thing ever and just horrifying. His bio if frightening: "...team owner and team captain of the celebrated Caballus Polo Team" "Bruce is active in charitable giving and in conjunction with HRHs Prince William and Prince Harry with whom he plays polo..." He has five kids, including triplets, one of whom is named "Maximus"?!?
