Sounds like they will get rice in january, and go for either sancho/haaland in the summer. they need a cb but Rice can play there in a pinch I guess.
Twitter has a bit more clout than message boards. Especially the bigger fan accounts that are saying the same the same thing
On The Football Show this AM, the bloke who also works for Chelsea (Neil something) said he feels strongly that Chelsea will be the next team for Haaland. He said he couldn’t say any more, but it seems he had some inside info on that front, which seems interesting. One would hope that they look at Reyna as well, but he seems like a Havertz type so they may not want another one. Nice front three that, Pulisic, Reyna and Haaland.
He doesn't need to. The press ask him (pretty much every day) the same idiotic questions posters on message boards would ask. Let's listen in, as I paraphrase our {imagined} conversation: Tim: Frank, a question if I might? Lampard: You, again! Tim: Still sore about yesterday? The question had to be asked. Lampard: Get on with it, then. {motions to security} Tim: Well, the boys (and girl) at BS are still hung up on Pulisic and Werner. No one can figure out why you would move Pulisic to the right when he was playing so well on the left, and then - having moved Werner there and watched your experiment fail so miserably - refuse to switch them back. Lampard: First, thanks for not asking about Pulisic's hamstrings three times a day. Tim: You're welcome. The press pool decided that Pulisic's back-to-back 90' efforts meant we could cut back on the hamstring questions to twice/day. Lampard: Thanks all the same. In answer to your question, I'll just remind everyone present that I'm the smartest guy in the room. Tim: That seems to be your answer to every question these days. Let me return to the quote that caused you to storm out of the room yesterday. "Seemed like Frank indeed got stubborn and doubled-down after seeing the criticism he received removing CP off the left flank. That's got to be a worrying sign since he's more worried about proving people wrong that his way is the right way..." Again, would you care to comment? Lampard: Who said that? Is he a mind-reader? Has he bugged my office? Tim: No, he's just drawing inferences, reasonable ones I might add, drawn from your actions, your public comments, and that noticeable tic you develop whenever the question is asked. Everyone in the press pool says it reminds them of poor Herbert Lom in the Pink Panther movies. Lampard: Very funny ... not. Anyway, you'll be happy to know that Ziyech will be available very soon to take up his spot on the right. Then I guess we'll see who gets to play on the left. Tim: Security! Put this man in irons!
Lampard is supposedly haalands favorite player. Would have thought for sure he would go to Real Madrid though. Also if they get haaland, Werner is going to look like a silly acquisition and definitely will not be happy on the bench in the prime of his career. I’d expect him to be pushing to go elsewhere that can use him properly. I’d love to have him at arsenal.
Not only that but he was asked directly about removing CP off the left wing by a reporter on his post match press interview...so I'm pretty sure Frank is fully aware of the criticism by just not fan but the media.
Lampard has played Werner mostly out wide and it doesn't look like it'll change with Giroud and Abraham doing well enough as strikers...Werner and CP will compete for the left wing spot...and Haland can be the 9..
Such a dumb use of Werner. He clearly is not comfortable as a winger, especially against packed defenses. I'm trying to understand what exactly Chelsea's recruitment strategy is, other than collecting high profile youngish players like pokemon cards. It will be impossible to keep them all happy. I'm surprised Hudson Odoi isn't agitating for a move or at least a loan.
Wonderful yet wasteful: Chelsea must unlock the best of Timo Werner Decent article in the Guardian about the Timo situation. And, to all who believe in Santa, Merry Christmas!
Remember all that talk last season about the idea of 'merit'? yet Timo is definitely being forced in the lineup lately...
Interesting....Timo as a midfielder? Don't hold your breaths, Chelsea is already stacked in the midfield.
Some have suggested the Chelsea midfield is not "creative" enough for the forwards to thrive so Chelsea needs reinforcement in this area (other than Havertz or possibly Rice?). I don't see Timo as a creator; maybe Pulisic.
From a West Ham supporter's perspective, it seems unlikely to me that Rice goes this window, but seems pretty likely he goes next. The hammers have proven this far they can beat anyone and also lose handily. Rice is The Main Man and seems fully bought in for this season and if some of his teammates can perform they'll do enough to make europe and have a shot at keeping him. That's a big if though and I doubt it happens
https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/che...-list-as-blues-face/9nccepduwxgt1uo0hiselvwof Lampard lays the blame with both the Premier League and the broadcasters for not finding a solution that offers a fairer playing field to teams at the top of the table. "It's two games in two days, 48 hours," Lampard said. "I'm not trying to be clever, it's an important point for us because there are other teams that are challenging at the top of the league that play two games in three days. "Manchester United, Tottenham, Liverpool play two games in three or four days. It's counterproductive for the quality of the Premier League, it's a risk for players if they are going to play both games at top-end elite sport, everybody knows that. "And I know clearly what happened with this one as well; the game's being broadcast live as they all are now. And we play Arsenal on Boxing Day, and our game with Man City now has been pushed to the Sunday (January 3). "So the schedule meant that we couldn't play, and Aston Villa also wanted to play on the Tuesday, they wanted an extra day, and so did we. But we got overruled by both the Premier League and the broadcasters. "I know in conjunction with each other, and this was bounced around, it got decided that we play twice in 48 hours when other teams that are challenging at the top of the league play twice in three days. "I don't see how it's a fair playing field, I think it's wrong and it's not going to be the best for the players that play at the top level. Don't get me wrong, Aston Villa have the same problem. Us playing them, we'll both have the same problems. "But I'm just saying we are not getting the same rest period that other teams are getting. It's not good even for the players to go out and train let alone play to a high level of 90 minutes. Everybody in the Premier League knows that." Lampard has admitted that because of the schedule, he will have to field a heavily rotated side on Monday against Villa following the match against the Gunners. "The broadcasters are looking for the best product, so yeah, I will have to rotate players," Lampard added. "I'll have to see off the back of Arsenal where players are; every individual is different.
Probably on the right but I want to start seeing him drift into space In the middle for passes regardless of being on the right or left
I think he loses effectiveness coming too centrally and often runs into mounts areas and vice versa. He's a left winger not sure why lamps insists otherwise.
I like CP on the left cutting inside and creating with the ball. That requires complementary runs from other players, which is not something that we generally see this year. Werner is equally inept on either side.
