ctrl+f 'havertz' NOT FOUND kidding aside, i think getting havertz going is more important than getting werner going since havertz when playing well adds a dimension they are actually missing vs a werner.
I see what you are doing here, but I think that's a lot of changes to a lot of effective players to get Werner to work.
Werner has 4 goals (tied for 2nd on team) and 4 assists (1st on team) in the PL this year. He's going through a rough patch of form. It happens with every player, particularly new players. The PL season is long and it's only December - reactionary moves are not the answer. When Ziyech is back Werner will get some much needed rest and find his form again. Not everything is as complicated as we like to think it is.
They should have try to find a younger version of Giroud. That guy is perfect for this current Chelsea squad/style. He scored 7 goals in the last 7 games, and had a dominant display after the break last season. Still, Werner is very talented and exciting striker. Hopefully they can find always to make it work when everyone is healthy for a longer period.
Seemed like Frank got indeed stubborned and double-down after seeing the criticism he received removing CP off the left flank. That's got to be a worrying sign since he's more worried about proving people wrong that his way is the right way...
I don't think Werner fits stylistically....I don't care what his numbers are. he doesn't play the game to bust bunkers and dominate possession.... He'd actually be better on a team a tier or two below a team like Chelsea that counterattacks a lot...like Atletico, imo.
This is hilarious. How on earth would you know this unless you have his house bugged or he communicates with you telepathically?
Haven't you read The Nine-Mile Walk? Noriega has simply drawn reasonable inferences from observable facts - Lampard's lineup and substitution choices, his press conferences, his facial expressions, etc.
https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/lam...tness-updates-ahead/pc5aiyu6mn271a2dg8yehmwfk "Asked if the 27-year-old {Ziyech} will be available for selection against Arsenal, Lampard told a pre-match press conference: "No, he won't be fit for Arsenal." Pressed on whether or not he is concerned by Ziyech's persistent fitness issues, the Blues legend responded: "No. He had a knee injury at the start of the season and he now has a muscle injury." Lampard went on to reveal that James and Chilwell are both doubts for the Arsenal fixture and a meeting with Aston Villa on December 28. The former missed the West Ham game due to a knee issue, while the latter was withdrawn in the first half after turning his ankle. "They're both doubtful. We're not sure whether they will be fit for either game," said Lampard."
I don't think a rest for a game is all that reactionary - the demands of the PL are pretty intense and there is definitely an adjustment period. I think he's good enough and don't buy that it's a bad fit either - just think he looks fried and is struggling with form and would benefit from a game off.
Is it possible Werner (and/or Abraham and/or Giroud) is already being considered to be shipped out ? http://www.thehardtackle.com/news/2...ritize-erling-haaland-transfer-in-the-summer/
OMG... I would be in heaven. I also want them to get another CDM. Tyler Adams?... But in all seriousness... Haaland and CP up front would be unreal. CP would eat up the holes Haaland creates in the 18 due to double-teams and both of them are great at poaching well-times crosses.
Lampard has mainly played Werner on the left wing, so maybe they'll keep him and let him compete with CP for that spot....Haland looks more of a proper 9 for the premiere League.
? Haaland is the prototypical 9 in any league and Werner is not. Even in Germany he tended to play in a dual striker position. Werner isn't going anywhere this summer. A team that plays this many games needs to have 4 wingers and they have them: CP, Werner, Ziyech and CHO. And since all of these guys outside of Werner have shown the propensity to get injured I wouldn't be shocked if they tried to add a young winger to the mix. The question then becomes who do you keep between Giroud and Tammy. Giroud has been the more successful this season but isn't getting any younger. Perhaps they keep all three and have Tammy as an option at Winger? His crosses from the right side are pretty decent and he can run. Not sure. But adding Haaland would be sic. Just look at what his absence has done to BVB's offense. It is a shell of what it normally is when Haaland is muscling off double-teams and striking goals from acute angles. Dude could be the best striker we see over the next decade.
the only new guys I like are Thiago Silva and the keeper Mendy. The new attackers are all good but not clearly better than what they had. I think they are not an upgrade from Willian.
DMs, and someone who has shown they can make forward passes that are open — i.e., not Kante, Jorginho, or Mount. And so far not really Havertz. The Chelsea midfield misses more runners than anyone.
P.S. Mount could be a great box to box defensive midfielder if he wasn’t constantly crowding attackers in the box. He’d still wouldn’t see the field that well, but you can’t have everything.
At this point I think they'd be best served trying to develop some chemistry with the squad they already have. Adding in more fresh faces, especially expensive ones, isn't the answer imo. They have more than enough talent it's on Lamps to get his man management and tactics up to par and get this team back into a top 4 position by EOY.
