No I'm not. It's definitely Hazard who has to be held personally responsible but as a manager if you have a player come in who is overweight and not looking after their nutrition and fitness then you have to lay the law down and take action. Alex Ferguson wouldn't put up with that crap I don't think it's a stretch to think that Zidane's man management style breeds complacency. Without Ramos we would be lost.
He wasn't really "smashing it" to be honest. He wasn't even the best Belgian in the Premier League. Arguably not the best winger, clearly not the best player. Sterling, Mane, Salah, all absolutely head and shoulders above him for probably 3 years.
How so? Sterling has been outscoring and outassisting him for years playing in the exact same position as him. I know people will say that Hazard does all the fancy pantsy "dribbling" and moving, but we needed end product and Sterling has delivered end product for consecutive years.
Sterlings end product is highly overrated in comparison how much he misses. He is a player like Pedro, who benefits in playing in a system like that of Pep. Hazard ofc in his Chelsea form was way more of a player than Sterling and i know for sure Pep would swap them eyes closed. Sterling footballing iq is too low, headless chicken with 0 playmaking abilities. As I said with Mane and Salah I agree, Sterling is just too overrated. He still isn’t labeled as top wingers, despite all those years of ‘potential’.
You put Raul Bravo in that wing forward position with Pep and he will score a ton too. City fans keep complaining about the guys finishing, he just gets a ton of chances.
That's great but he's still been more productive that Hazard. People were saying Hazard would bring end product once he plays in Madrid and he remains the same player he was at Chelsea. I'm not saying Sterling is the better player overall, but we needed production and got a guy that isn't really a player that ticks that box. Go back and look at the posts here. Now look at people pivot to "Well, that's not the player he is!" no shit. I knew that already by just looking at his career numbers, but back when I was saying it I was "just not watching football". Ok
The most he's ever scored in a single season for Chelsea is 21 goals, I don't know why people'd expect him to become a high-volume goalscorer for us at 28.
Hazard hasn't been anything here lol. And Sterling has never been rated nearly as high as Hazard by anybody, all u have to do is watch Chelsea and City and see one player being the go to guy and the other fitting in a system perfectly. If your point is we needed a Sterling more than a Hazard then I can see that argument. No way would i call Sterling head and shoulders better than Hazard, not in 3 seasons or even in any of those seasons.
10-15 a SEASON? lol, you are very optimistic my friend. I would be happy if he score 10-15 his entire career at Madrid ! I mean the guy has scored "2" in 1.5 year and he is not getting any younger!
We were told he will get a better support cast in Madrid, he will not be playing the "tough" defense of the EPL, he will be playing under an attacking coach, his style will dominate la liga etc
Hazard will return, work his way into form, and then get hurt right before the Atalanta away game. He's replaced Gareth Bale perfectly in that regard.
