When Seattle makes a decent charge toward the sideline on the Columbus side of the field, the Sounders' crossing is painfully bad.
Jones seems useless drifting inside and doesn't look threatening at all and he hasn't helped on Defense. He needs to be on the left and he can put some dangerous balls in. But he does nothing on the right. Either have Morris and Jones switch sides or sub Jones out for Leerdam.
Schmetzer's decisions to stick with Alex Rodan and Joevin Jones looks horrible. Alex Roldan has been out of position on both Columbus goals, and Jones has been invisible. Get Leerdam & Svensson in ASAP.
I haven't spent any time thinking about MLS 2021, for obvious reasons, but I wouldn't be shocked if we see MLS is Back II in Orlando next February/March. I don't think we'll be back to normalcy by then, so it would be a good way to kickstart the new year.
I want to see Jason Levien in the stands with three briefcases labeled : Schmetzer, Hendrickson, Pineda. As soon as the final whistle blows he chucks them in the dugout area and the first guy who brings one back to him gets the DCU job.
The start of the season could be rough, but the end could be as close to normal as possible, assuming the vaccines available are distributed efficiently and they do in fact, work with few side effects.
I think that is a decent possibility. Would assume the league would want to delay the start of the regular season as long as possible to get fans into the stands. Could also see them doing a group stage tournament for each conference in a location that allows fans and then do a combined knockout tournament somewhere.
