There's no way in hell I'm going to read through 22 pages of Crew fellation and doomsday scenarios and myriad other manifestations of the Columbus Persecution Complex, so let me just say: Lose by Two.
You took the words right off of my keyboard. How do people still not understand the current state of US Soccer? It's all about SUM.....
I love this: A hype video. #Crew96 #columbus 👏👏👏 pic.twitter.com/hfYXdpCvBE— Miriam Matteson (@mirmatt) December 12, 2020
Let's not get into the psychological evaluation of "why don't I really give a shit this year?" which is accompanied by "the match is being played within earshot of my house and I didn't make an attempt to go" and "I miss my Crew friends more than my mother yet I'll watch this match from my couch." 2020 sucks, man. Full stop.
I’m just sad that we won’t have Crew soccer for a while after tomorrow. It’s been such a nice thing to look forward to during all of this and i’ve felt blessed that they have gotten this far and given as as many games as possible. As far as the game goes, I think Porter has it in him to get the team motivated. I think we come out like the team that spanked Atlanta in Atlanta with Maloney and Guzman starting for us.

#Crew96 club spokesperson confirmed that all the team's COVID-19 tests from Friday were negative. The Black & Gold are good to go for MLS Cup today minus those already listed as out.— Patrick Murphy (@_Pat_Murphy) December 12, 2020
The Massive will be marching in with a broken spine and a clipped wing. It feels like David versus Goliath or Daniel against the Lions (no, not the toothless NFL ones). When all seems dark, we band together and through our collective support from the stadium and for afar, the team will rise, the team will overcome, and there will only be one story written tonight; the story of a club who against all odds didn't move South only to host and lift a cup soon after. A club battling adversity for three years to climb Mount Everest (at the new established height). Grandchildren will hear tales of a pandemic year where the world seemed to be upside down but the light shone at the end. Glory to Columbus!
Gotta love the local ties for Bez with his mom having this to say in the below dispatch article today. "Ellen Bezbatchenko just really wants to beat Seattle, she said with a laugh: “I really don’t like them.” https://www.dispatch.com/story/news...ns-ready-third-mls-cup-appearance/3895156001/
My buddy and I were able to get tickets for the game tonight and super excited/nervous/excited. We are way in the upper deck but there regardless. Woo.
Columbus Crew is the Greatest team I have supported and bought season tickets for since 1996!! Go Crew!!!
Let's see here: beef roast in slow cooker for Italian beef sandwiches before the game, check primary beers ordered for pickup, check secondary beers in back of fridge, check nacho ingredients ready to go, check ( queso free, of course ) digital TV antenna optimized and available on all TV's and devices via HD Homerun, check video conference scheduled for friends and family for in-game, check threats advising to not interrupt me between 6 pm and 11 pm sent to bandwagoneers that have no clue about soccer, still pronounce MLS incorrectly, and are only watching because their precious Buckeyes aren't playing; check (i.e. "what's offside?" "can they do that?" "it doesn't look they are doing very well" "why don't they just call a timeout?" - see Blue Jackets, hockey - "what's icing?" "do they still have Saad?") primary and secondary device for likely excessive and alcohol fueled complaining on Bigsoccer, check optimism, check post win pillow fort and safety zone, check
Gotta keep the Cardale Jones, Maloney/Guzman PO vibes going. Some magic from Zelarayan. Zardes & Mensah do their thing. A timely cross/finish from Diaz/Afful/Artur/Valenzuela/whomever starts for Pedro. Room has great game. Williams brings the Cup back for Columbus.
