PSG up 1-0 vs Man United so far. If they win today, then both of them plus Leipzig will have 9 points. But Leipzig will sit in 3rd place after this match day
Leipzig-2nd in 1BL Man U-9th in EPL Turkish club-9th in shitty Turkish League yeah makes 1BL look bad when 2nd place BARELY gets results.
Leipzig finishing 3rd and dropping over to Europa league may be the ideal case for them. If they advance in CL, they'll likely get an opponent who will crush them. Knockout stage EL may be more of their level. Don't expect them to have it in them to go that far, but should have a better chance at being at least competitive there
Maybe, but people said that last season and they made the SF. I don't expect them to win next week though, I feel they lack fire power and will be susceptible to United's counter attacking. I also think they lack the mental strength to win a decisive match like that one will be. Tuchel will be relieved though, had PSG lost tonight he would have been very close to being fired. Now they look very likely to advance.
As expected, pretty easy progression from the group but almost certain failure against any half decent opposition, unable to win either game v Lazio and will probably be the same v last 16 opposition. Same story every season under Favre and his negative approach.
Leipzig are just a mehh club without Werner. Their first goal today was a fluke lucky goal by Poulsen who had no idea about it happening in the moment. They also blew what should have been a reasonable lead, and were fortunate they scored a late one to avoid a complete embarrassment. I can't see their defence holding it together against a stronger opponent in a two-match KO round in CL.
A bit unfair that assessment. This season is a ********ing nightmare schedule wise for any club. But it's especially tough for a team like Leipzig that played deep into August for the UCL tournament in Lisbon. Considering the circumstances they're doing extremely well in the one of the two toughest groups in the Champions League.
RB Leipzig is the Energie Cottbus of the CL. Bunch of foreigners. Even the subs coming on are not German.
