Yes, sorry, I wasn't accurate. Actually, being in a hurry while writing my post, I wasn't fiding the right words to describe the deal, so I chose that shortcut. Anyway, the bottom line is: Yuki doesn't seem to plan to get back in Japan: if the season will start regularly in 2021, she should be in Louisville's ranks.
I think she will like Louisville. Also having Yuki there will be a draw for other talented players and maybe even get Press and Heath to play as Yuki is the best Assist player in NWSL. Press will score a ton of goals playing with Yuki. Louisville is a nice city, right on the Ohio river, college town, lots of stuff going on. I plan on it and I am sure there will be a huge supporters contingent going down there from Chicago the first game the Red Stars play in Louisville. 4/12 to 5 hour drive straight down Interstate 65 through Indiana. One day trip.
I am gonna really miss Yuki I wish her the best in Louisville. The cold hard realities of pro soccer force us to never get used to or attached to any particular player. When Press and Kerr left, it hit me hard. I look at it this way: I had the pleasure and pride of having Press, Kerr, Yuki on our beloved CRS and to be able to watch them live and in person many times! That's all we can ask for. Best wishes to Savannah as well - would've been nice to see her again in CRS uniform - great potential. Sorry, should've posted in Red Stars thread, instead - I got a little carried away.
With folks earlier discussing if Press and Heath will ever play in Louisville, here was Press's answer on being picked in the expansion draft in today's (USWNT pre-match) press conference: Christen Press' full answer to the expansion draft question: pic.twitter.com/u0s9VqFkGn— Jonathan Tannenwald (@thegoalkeeper) November 25, 2020 I don't want to read too much into it because Press is almost always diplomatic and noncommittal in her press conference answers. But, I would say that there's no indication here that she was excited about the possibility of playing in Louisville.
If nothing else, with Louisville owning the rights to Press and Heath, they have some assets to trade.
I think they figured that if they could get them for a year great, but if not, then they could leverage a trade where they could stockpile draft picks, international slots, and money over the next 3 years. A win win win for them.
Louisville has a shirt sponsor: GE Appliances! https://www.racingloufc.com/news_article/show/1137389 GEA already covered LouCity, and now will be on the kits of every team in the Louisville umbrella, from the two pro teams to the lowest youth teams.
I live in Louisville and will be attending the Racing Louisville FC pre-season ICC match against NC Courage tonight. I'm glad we have an NWSL team here, and look forward to supporting it. Go Racing!
Our first win tonight! 2-0 over Washington Spirit, Emina Ekic and Cece Kizer scoring. Goalie Michelle Betos was Player of the Match, deservedly so. She's great, gets across the goalmouth really fast.
Yes, it was! Ekic dribbled thru traffic, then put it in the top left corner. She had the assist on Kizer's goal also.
Mods, can we please change the thread title to include the name of the team? The season is rolling already.
I don't know if there are any regular mods over here anymore. Now that the season has started, if I were you, I'd just start a Louisville 2021 thread in the main forum. Otherwise, it may get buried over here in the expansion sub-forum.
