I wonder if Jimenez was a positive. I imagine he was at a hospital to see the birth of his child. High risk maybe.
#Crew96’s players who are not medically cleared to play against Nashville SC: Waylon Francis, Sebastian Berhalter, Miguel Berry, Derrick Etienne, Jon Kempin, Eloy Room and Vito Wormgoor.— Patrick Murphy (@_Pat_Murphy) November 29, 2020
Well, not having the best keeper in the league is a bummer but overall could have been one hell of a lot worse Of note: we won't have a backup keeper
I thought he had been cut but I checked and yes, he's still on the roster. Why the hell are we carrying four keepers?
Nothing, as far as I know. Though Bill is capable of having info that went by me. Lampson is still listed on the roster. Well, 2 starters, 1 guy on the DL, 2 guys who were not going to make the 18/20 (Berry, Kempin), 1 guy who was unlikely to (Berhalter), and 1 guy who did last match (Francis). Pretty good roster cross section. Tarbell has been pretty good but losing Room hurts. Etienne had been playing well, but between Diaz, Boatang, and Mokhtar (and maybe Nemeth) we should have decent replacements. And I think Jimenez can replace Francis as the backup FB on the 18/20 nicely. -----------------Tarbell-------------- Afful---Mensah---Williams---Valenzuela --------Artur-----Nagbe-------- Diaz-----Zelarayan----Santos -------------Zardes------------- Bench: Lampson; Jimenez, Cadden, Keita; Morris, Boatang, Mokhtar; Nemeth, Adi. Go Crew!
I'm ready for the game tomorrow. Gonna be a late night for me (have to fill out the forms before midnight, and yes midnight is late for this good 'o boy.) Let's Go Crew!
I assume it is Vito out/not medically cleared because of his previous injury/surgery, and the other 6 players are the ones who tested positive?
Aren't most hospitals around here no visitors except in specific situations? Unless this hospital isn't in Columbus, of course.
We are Ok without Room the question is when will he be back we need him ASAP we might have a hard time in the ECF without him but Tarbell is more than serviceable but also absolutely not on Rooms level
So with the additional player who was " an anticipated positive" who had already " separated from the team" there are actually seven people out with the Covid. (Maybe somebody's roommate?) Thats something like 25% of the roster. One hell of a hit any way you slice it. But as @TrueCrew put it, its a decent cross section of the team from key guy to wasn't going to be on the bench. Could have been better, could have been much, much worse.
Most hospitals statewide are no visitors. But even if they weren't locked down, the level of precautions in the hospitals is really remarkable. Nobody at Kroger is walking around gloved and gowned and wearing a positive pressure hood.
I tend to agree. But I have noticed, over the past few weeks, Mokhtar's role diminishing with the club. He didn't even make the subs bench for the past two games. He seems fine, health-wise, but had been pushed aside by Etienne and other players, presumably. Guess we'll find out when the starting XI and subs are announced tonight.
