i still think what Gareca did with Peru is pretty much a miracle. That team should not even have gone to the WC.

I was thinking the other day how much we wasted our true golden generation, which to me was 2010-2014. We had genuinely top talent at our disposal compared to now. Vargas, Farfan, Guerrero, Pizarro, Mudo, Zambrano, Advincula, Yotun. This generation is good but honestly it's just a team with higher work rate and a better midfield. Our squad now isn't as good as then, just more balanced.

So this clown is really not leaving then? Shame. I would of been okay firing him and just promote someone from the lower ranks.

Eh who knows; maybe he WILL just bounce back when our players recover...

His handling of what he had to use is the most concerning but in the first two qualifiers, he was decent despite the sudden issues that came.

I just pray that he learns from these last two qualifier matches to invest more time into better understanding all of his players and not just the starters...

Here's hoping that we manage to bounce back....

He made a very poor squad selection for the first set of qualifiers leaving himself without any wide attackers to use off the bench. Venezuela basically gifted us the first game which has nothing to do with him and the second game we were good for a half and terrible for another, his subs were not great because of his squad selection and it was a very weakened Chile team that we should have handed better.
This, the players know there is big problems and its clear they don't trust him and he's lost the dressing room, you can't come back from that as a coach.

Do you really think so? I mean maybe because it's Colombian fed.

but 6 months till next match day, and no announcement right after the losses. To me it's only logical to let someone go. But It almost sounds to me the fed is broke and they really can't eve afford hiring some guy off the street at this point.

    the pinto thing?

Honestly I hope it's not Bolillo, Comensana(junior will need him in 3 months), or Pinto.

at this point no names are being said or mentioned I really hope it's not a Colombian league coach.

it's going to be someone from Argentina or Mexico.

Would be interesting if they go for one of the Colombian coaches from the US haha

I mean they needed to go the next step from Pekerman instead they went ultra defensive which made 0 sense. I am still happy we fired Pekerman as the England result should cost anyone his job. Not because we are that much better than England but come on he didn’t even try to win until the last 5 minutes of that fking game.

we should have gone for Sampoli or one of the other old Chilean coaches. Or someone with a bit more aggressive or modern version of Pekerman. I mean I defiantly didn’t want one of his assistants to be our coach considering they didn’t take the u20 or Olympic teams (probably had more to do with the fed sucking than Pekerman being lazy). Again that was bad planning on the federations part. Pekerman wasn’t getting any younger and if he had a quality understudy they could have got experience with coaching with youth levels like they are doing with Reyes who is utter shit. Omg I hope our coach isn’t Reyes!!! I fking prefer Bolillo then that idiot
