I see CBS is up to its old tricks on replays. Finally getting around to Dortmund-Zenit from 5 days ago and the replay jumps from about the 5th minute to the second half, and when it comes back the video is a couple of seconds behind the audio making the entire commentary a spoiler of sorts.

The audio sync problem occurred on the Juventus-Barca game as well starting some time in the mid-second half. So annoying.

I am starting to really dig the Golazo show.

It is 6:45 EST and CBS has only one game from the late starts on replay now. No Ajax. No Bayern. No Liverpool. No Porto. No Real Madrid.

The Ajax replay showed up this morning when I checked. I was pissed off yesterday as I had a meeting and could not watch the second half of the game. When I logged on after dinner it still was not there.

BTW, I got an Amazon Fire stick as my Win7 PC won't do the live streams and the Stick worked fine. Clear picture with no dropouts.

It seems (not just with CBS but other sports streaming services) that they don't/can't even begin uploading replays until the post-match show is over. And CBS' post match CL show is very long, which is nice but it comes with this side effect.

I posted in the NBC thread that the general lack of pre-game/half-time/post-game is fine with me since I never watch any of those. I want the matches, not what people say about the matches. But man, these networks cut things way too close for my liking. CL should start with the walkout and not end right as the final whistle blows. The Real-Shakhtar stream from MD1 ended during the whistle being blown. C'mon. That's unnecessary. At least let the stream run for another 30 seconds so we can see player reactions.

Yeah, when they do this it's even a bit of a spoiler - if the time left when we hit 90 is the # of stoppage time minutes, you know a goal isn't going to be scored.

Catching up on some Europa League on CBS All Access and put on the Omonoia-Granada match (yes, my life choices have brought me here) and to my surprise the international English feed is using an American announcer (I think it's one of the second-tier BeIN guys, I recognize the voice but don't know the name). This is the first time in all my years of watching UEFA International feeds I haven't heard a British-accented voice on the call.

Was in that WST article, but they have the golazo show guy doing play by play for the chelsea match and it's giving me a beIN vibe. LEAVE THE WORLD COMMENTATORS ALONE. STOP IT.

Did anyone else hear "Free All-Access for the month of December?"

I can't seem to find anything on their website or app, other than the basic week-long trial.

That golazo show is really horrendous! All they do is repeatedly mention the current scores and live table, all of which is easily visible on the screen at all times.

CBS All Access first tuning into the wrong game. And now it's down. Not impressed.

Yeah, I thought it was just me selecting the wrong match by mistake. But nope, they were showing the Barca match when I selected the PSG match.

And now if you try to select a match you can't get in. Server error!!! Fuu....

(still seems to be working for those that selected a match before 3:00pm ET and stuck with it - but I imagine that's not a lot of people when they flip the game on you).

Edit: Working now. Missed first 15 minutes. grrr....

7pm EST and no games on demand yet from today (Wednesday, 12/2). Normally I don't start watching this early but today I have time, so this is obnoxious. Went with the on demand Atletico-Bayern game while I wait for today's games.

Here's some more craziness. I'm watching the Fenerbahçe - Barcelona match on-demand. It starts out without commentary for about 4.5 minutes. Then it cuts into the PSG-ManU match. Plays that match for about 4 minutes and then you go back to Fen-Bar at minute 8 (or so).

Before the beginning of the group stage fixtures I searched google for something like "CBS All Access and coupon" and got to one of those coupon aggregation sites (can't remember which one) and scored a coupon code for a free month.

You may be able to find something that still works.

Yep. Similar thing happened to me and @celito (see posts above). Lucky for you, you didn't exit the stream once they switched to the wrong match because you wouldn't have been able to get back in for 10 or so minutes.

I wonder if this crash happened because they got really high viewership numbers(?). Am thinking that because when you factor in the high US fanbase that Man Utd has, the importance and appeal of this particular game and the golazo shitshow being the only thing on regular TV it seems plausible that more people entered CBS access than ever before.

What Golazo needs to do is identify 2-3 games of interest before they start. These can be ones that are important in the standings or even ones with large US fanbases.

They focus on these games. They can jump to other games as goals happen, PKs are awarded or players leave the game due to subs, bookings or injuries.

If two things happen concurrently, they should do a split-screen or even "let's see what just happened in this other game.".

But also, channels need to realize why NFL RedZone works is because it's essentially put on by the NFL itself. One is a special channel operated by NFL Network and the other is part of Sunday Ticket. Plus, there's the fact that out of eight games maximum, maybe 2-3 will be at commercial and one or two will be 70-80 yards from the end zone. This naturally reduces the number of "games of interest" down to maybe 2-3. If something happens in another game, they can easily show it as a highlight.

Plus...they use the regular announcers as much as possible. The NFL RedZone hosts interject, but it's not constant.

In the late afternoon when there's maybe only 3-4 games, they fill the time by showing a lot of highlights.

With all the natural stoppages an NFL game has, RedZone just works.

Because soccer is so free-flowing, it's easy to miss something.

Fox should have never lost the rights. I had:
    FS1 on my TV.
FS2 on my laptop via Slingbox.
    ESPN2 on my phone.
ESPN3 on my laptop via a 4x4 array.

It was glorious. To go from that to B/R Live...at least I can watch Galavision and TUDN in HD on mute.

Was at a bar the other day watching a Barca game and one guy asked to put up that channel on one of the TVs. Worst fukin idea ever. I am watching Barca game and suddenly the Golazo channel would switch to it ahead of the feed I am watching. Made for people with no freakin attention span. Luckily the bartender is my friend and agreed he won't be putting that channel up again.

    I love RedZone though.

At a bar, it might be good on a side TV or two, especially when the home or bar's hosted team* isn't playing, but I wouldn't want to put it on a main TV.

*I don't know what to call the "bar's hosted team" but many bars have groups of fans who gather who may not be the local team. For example, a bunch of Tampa Bay fans who live in LA may have a bar they all congregate at. If I was running this bar and Tampa or either LA team wasn't playing with a large crowd at my bar, I'd probably turn RedZone on a few side TVs.

As long as the RedZone feed is behind the feed I am watching, it's OK. But you can't guarantee that now with some games being on cable, some on online streaming. And yeah, it depends on the bar setup. If you're watching one game you just don't want it to be spoiled by reaction to a feed that's ahead.

I think they are referred to as Supporters’ groups’ official home or base. Not exactly a catchy reference but these relationships are official.
