We clearly don't have enough players who look like they regularly swear on their nan's grave. ESR solves that problem. I'm on board.

Earle & Howard are laying into Pepe & Arteta respectively right now.

He's still valued at £36m on Transfermarkt, but no way Arsenal can sell him for that much now. He fits best on a counter-attacking side, which big club that plays that way can also afford his fee and salary? Maybe Atletico? Do a Lemar for Pepe swap of wingers that were bought for way too much?

Considering how despondent I was when Pepe got sent off I'm quite happy with the 2nd half. Leeds had every chance to take full points but didn't, and some of that was due to efforts by Arsenal players.

Scoring drought continues, though. Arteta needs to really pick some heads up and change the tune of the attack cause otherwise teams will just ambush Arsenal non-stop.

Gutsy performance after the red - but lucky overall.

Leeds were clearly the better team all night.

Pepe, Willock and Willian were bad.

Saka needs to be starting (hope he is OK) and we need Partey back ASAP

Honestly I think we need to look at whether to bring Ozil back in after Xmas as a 6 month thing because the ability to get into space and hold the ball in midfield is zero right now

Also better to have Lulz in D and drop Xhaka

That wasn’t a head butt; that was a dive. My house cat is more aggressive when she nuzzles he face against me. Stupid on Pepe’s part to get goaded into getting in the guy’s face, but that wasn’t a head butt. God damn, this sport is embarrassing.

Yeah - but you know that decision will go against Arsenal all day long - whereas Maguire can judo throw his opponent to the ground

Auba simply gets no service. Its the same reason why all the attacking players have been garbage for over 2 years now

Who was it who recently threw an elbow into an opponents neck without even a foul?

And when he does get on the ball, there's no one surging from midfield to draw defenders from him, so he ends up needing to produce something outlandish to create a chance.

Still think we should have gone in for McKennie.

This will never happen. Either way, Arteta and the club will lose face, especially if he plays well. He won't let that happen.

Apparently Tierney squared up with Alioski after the whistle. That's our captain - make him club captain today.

Well maybe $50 down in the Bowery just might get Auba some "service". ;)

....and to think, yesterday I got through watching a highlight video on Facebook featuring some of the best of his first 50 goals since he became a Gunner.

....as for Tim Howard and Robbie Earle reading both Micky and Pepe the riot act I don't blame them one bit, this is not the kind of football club I would want to recommend to anyone to emulate right now. Arsene Wenger must be pissed right now that his former club has become of this. We were more disciplined under him than this, yes we were sent off, but some of those reds (except for Sol Campbell's elbow against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer vs United in 2002-03, which cost us the title that year when he got banned 3 games for it), were more unjustified than others, but this, was clearly uncalled for. No bones about it, we suck right about now, at least when it comes to discipline.

He needs to say Arteta’s name and stop being a punk.

Man Arteta was doing well toward the end of of last season too. He is slowly turning into another Emery. There is something systemically wrong at Arsenal.

Arteta says Willian was taken off at half due to a muscle injury and it wasn't tactical so he will definitely still be picking Willian to start.

I WAS impressed with the way Bielsa’s Leeds play. It felt like they made more off the ball runs in the first half than Arsenal have made all season. Arsenal seem to limit their off the ball runs to the wings in the attacking third. Leeds were making off the ball runs as soon as they entered the attacking half and they weren’t limited to the wings. Arteta might do well to focus on Leeds attack when reviewing the game film. That was the way Arsenal should be playing. Unfortunately, neither Xhaka or Ceballos appear athletic enough to play this way, though Arsenal did have a player that made a career out of finding those kinds of runs.

That's good news. I knew Willian is too good to be subbed off like that if it was tactical in which we now know it was not. Now that Pepe is gone for at least 3 games he'll definitely see some time in the Starting XI for sure.

I was a big fan of the Arteta hire, but I think there's no use in keeping him. All of the metrics of performance are going in the wrong direction.

Kroenke's ownership is a disaster. This doesn't end until he decides to sell.

at this point, i'm just happy we didn't lose on an ayling game-winner. that would have been classic us.

leeds, especially bamford, have been scoring for fun so it's nice we at least with the help of the crossbar on bamford's header) kept them to a clean sheet.

that said, "thank goodness for small favours" against leeds feels . . . . wrong.

    agree, that was absolute bullshit.

like jitty said, though, for whatever reason, in this sport, that is a red every single time. (more sad now that there is VAR, in my opinion.)

i am intrigued what the asshole said or did. pepe seems an easy going dude.

eh. i mean, the rot had . . . what? however many years at the end of wenger's reign and most of emery's - with special thanks to sanllehi - to set in? it was never going to be a quick fix without oil money.

we now have the foundation for/beginning of a spine with a solid keeper in leno, a terrific centreback in gabriel, and a hell of a central midfielder in partey and we have started to stop people from scoring for fun - sometimes with luck, admittedly - against us (villa aside). the team needs to grow and improve and so does arteta but throwing out the baby with the bathwater a year in is some spurs bullshit.
