If this was a tournament any manager with balls would take off a defender and go 4-3-3 and attack. Our defensive plan hasn't worked and has shipped 2 goals. We need 3 goals to win.. Its amazing we have so much attacking talent yet Southgate still makes it hard to watch
I thought we were the better side in that half. Very unlucky with the goals, and we've had three or four very good chances ourselves. It happens. I would still like to see how this system works with a more ambitious midfield though. Obvious move is to put Sancho on for Rice and move Mount back into midfield, but Foden would be interesting too. Oh, and I disagree with whoever said Trippier had been poor - I thought his movement and crossing were both excellent.
Statistically England have been better than Belgium so the performance has been solid like christiansur said we need rice off foden or sancho on
you do realise you can change shape when making a sub right? you don't HAVE to stay in the same system...
We seem to generally be terrible at direct free kicks. Trippier's in the semi final aside when was the last one we scored? I can remember a Rooney one against Estonia in 2014, that's about it. 2 going back probably 60, 70 games or something. Not so great given the amount of games we dominate.
I figured an intelligent poster like you would work that out for yourself... Kane with a great chance but rushed it
