In terms of depth this is the best England squad in my lifetime (30 odd years). The golden generation of Becks, Lampard, Gerrard et al was a stronger first team but had pretty awful backup.

The good thing about the current squad is the first 11 is kept on their toes knowing there is real quality waiting in the wings if they don't perform.

I think it’s 10 WC Finals clean sheets for Shilton. Doubt that will be beaten.

Would still prefer a ball playing midfielder instead of Hendo or Rice but overall quite happy with that considering our options at the moment. Think it will look better with Grealish & Mount playing with freedom and roaming behind Kane.

At least we’ve got a left footed wing back. System feels like it’s constantly caving into itself with a right footer on that side.

Foden or Winks over Rice or Henderson and it would be a decent lineup. Think the three at the back needs to be phased out but given it's Belgium away it's probably right to stick with it for now.

Would be the case if we had a competent midfield but with two plodder in midfield we won't be controlling the game against Belgium's dynamic midfield 3. Therefore our best chance will be on the counter attack.. except he has benched our pacy wingers. Fed up of Southgate's shit

There is absolutely zero chance 3 at the back is going anywhere before the Euro's

Prefer to see grealish and sancho alongside kane with foden in midfield with Henderson. Absolutely zero chance. Southgate always seems more concerned with the opposition than our own strengths

Granted off course another ball playing midfielder would be a benefit but I think you will end up seeing Mount and Grealish dropping into the midfield if it looks like being over run as they won’t be deployed as wingers in this game which for me is a big plus unlike when we say have Sterling and Rashford playing. Just gets to congested and messy in wide areas with the wing backs there also imo.

Front 3 are world class. I wouldn’t say tielemans or witsel are out of this world. Defensively they aren't fantastic

Just wish we had some pace like sancho sterling rashford. Vertonghan and audiwereld are in their 30s and not the quickest.

This is going to be a boring game, which we can't lose.

As long as we don't lose heavily i will be happy. We have half a team missing. Belgium are at full strength (bar hazard). I will take a good performance and a 1-0 defeat

The issue will be to reach him. Henderson and rice usually struggle to turn under pressure. The good thing is that Grealish learned to make the most of the times the ball reaches him these last years at Villa.

Hardly full strength if one of their two amazing players is missing ..

So de bruyne isn't amazing? Would rather have him than hazard

Fair point ... I just think Hazard is crucial to them.
