La clamorosa proposta di #Petrachi alla #ASRoma: "Riprendimi"Così il ds sarebbe disposto a chiudere il contenzioso legale con il club giallorosso. #CorriereDelloSport #Friedkin #Giallorossihttps://t.co/lyfkymSjvX— Giallorossi.net (@g_iallorossi) November 13, 2020
Lol, as much as I think he did a pretty good job on his tough situation, he's not coming back. Nor does it feel like the Friedkins would even be interested, or there would have been stronger rumors about his return already and the legal dispute going away. Petrachi's style/personality does not seem like it meshes well with what the Friedkins want.
What's the story here, was he (Petrachi) difficult to deal with? I know he had a bunch of public rows with the reporters and journalists here in Rome, but was he a thorn in the side of management as well?
He was a man with balls and called out Jimmy for the incompetent way decisions or more to the point, lack of clear decision making with too many cooks was being carried out. He was doing a great job turning around a mess he walked into within a year. He is not a yes man.
He was supposedly (and a little self-admittedly) difficult to deal with. It's not just Pallotta, though doing what he did is not likely to score you points when potential new bosses are evaluating the role. Beyond clashing with others in management, there was smoke about falling out with Fonseca and some players. As a fan, I think he did a good job and would take him back, but it's obvious there are issues or he'd already have the position back. It's telling that nobody has really said anything remotely defensive of their time working with him. Obviously, he's not the only person in the world who can do a good job in the role here, so if TFG think they can find somebody who they believe can do the job well and without the personal relationship baggage, then that's exactly what they'll do. In general, they're going to want to move forward with their choices. Petrachi is not their hire.

The DS situation is basically journalists throwing darts in a dark room while spinning on rotating chairs while being ruthlessly tickled by Moronchi.
Another dart: #Krösche sta cercando di liberarsi dal contratto che lo lega al @DieRotenBullen in queste ore, per venire alla @OfficialASRoma. Altro giro altra corsa... 👇@LAROMA24 #ASRoma 📢🚨 https://t.co/ePlyvT0dKm— Paolo Rocchetti (@P_Rocchetti87) November 15, 2020

Friedkin utilising football analytics agency to help find next Sporting Director https://t.co/OpNw2hxkgl— RomaPress (@ASRomaPress) November 17, 2020
I think Petrachi made a lot of really good and smart moves but it seems he has trouble getting along with everyone. Interpersonal skills are very important in most jobs and if he can't work with the rest of the club management, it's probably not going to work. I'm not too concerned that it's taking a long time hire a DS. I would rather they take their time and hire the right guy rather than just rushing out and hiring a 'name'. It doesn't mean the next DS will work out but at least Friedkin appears to be conducting a thoughtful and thorough search.
We finally have our new Director of Sport! Tiago Pinto will be the new sport director of AS Roma. The agreement is imminent - he’s coming from Benfica to Serie A, as per @DiMarzio.
