?

What should be top priority for the club this summer?

  1. Sign Camavinga

    33.3%
  2. Sell Bale/James (and other deadweight)

    40.9%
  3. Address backup RB

    1.5%
  4. Save the funds for next summer, go after Mbappe

    24.2%

He wasn't signed to play there but he did at times.
    Anyway that wasnt the point.
We need a right winger of world class.

This isnt a new problem and it keeps being ignored somehow.
I hope we sign Mbappé for that striker position.

Transfermarkt values are defined by the members and admins. There isn't much of a complicated algorithm in play or line of thought.

They are pretty accurate in my opinion. Personally i agree with Jovic's drop in value, he had one big season and that's it. But Hazard was never worth €150m to begin with and he's worth more than €60m now, despite everything.

    This is incorrect.

We bought Rodrygo for the right side. He was predominantly playing the right side when we bought him and since he has been here he has mostly played there as well.

These kids are projects though. Anyone expecting them to consistently be fantastic is deluded. Mbappe isn't consistently fantastic and has in my opinion stalled big time. Yet people have an expectation that teenagers from Brazil are suppose to jump into Madrid and take over for Cristiano.

They rate some players comically under market. I've seen the discussion boards, it's pretty hilarious.

Its easy to use and understand and those figures look accurate.

I really don't think we could get more than 75 ME in January for Hazard (assuming he plays and plays well between now and then) and if it had to happen today we probably would be lucky to get 50ME.

Jovic is due to mismanagement, if Zidane can get him to continue to be a double digit goalscorer he won't lose any value.

Where did Rodrygo play in Brazil? He looks more like an SS rather than a pure winger.

Well even then , we failed to sign a right winger that is an immediate upgrade over what we have had for years.

I also think that he is better as a ss

He is just too passive to be a winger

He played on the right against Bolivia. Came in as a sub in the 2nd half.
    Neymar played 90 minutes.
He plays mostly on the right but he has no chance starting there for us with the mighty Asensio taking on that role for us..

We failed to sign any upgrades for multiple positions for years.

    That was on Florentino.

He apparently bet everything the past summers on this one; he better not miss.

I would give Rodrygo and Vinicius a lot more time to prove themselves, considering they have already been pretty important for us even now (yes, along with bad games as well) and they are only 19 and 20. I don't see either of them as being a problem for this squad.

Hell, I'd still take Vinicius starting over Hazard right now even, and he didn't cost us 100+ million either.

But for perspective: Zlatan looked like one of the worst transfers in Ajax's history when he was 19/20.(his first year there)

This is no way to build a team. Instead of slowly acquiring quality and replacing the old guard, we've assembled a gazillion average players and then sold many of them. At no point did it seem like we had a solid plan of purchases based on the requested style of play. Now we are left with gaping holes in the squad that are going to take a lot of money and probably years to fill. Everyone mentions how we cannot compete with City and PSG, but those two teams aren't going to buy every player on the planet.

I disagree. For years I’ve thought they under value players and it’s been proven again and again when the transfer fees are paid.

I think (I could be wrong) that when an actual transfer fee is paid they make that the transfermaket “price” as well. I’ll bet they didn’t value Hazard at 150M when he signed with us. And it makes sense too. A players value is what a club pays for him.

Barca have been doing the opposite basically throwing all the coal in the fire for years in wages and transfer fees. Which is what you're suggesting here. Invest in the right now. How has that worked out for them?

The team was on top of the world for about 6 years or so. That's as good of a run as you'll get before a dip.

I'd like to hear some examples of teams that sustained success for decades since that's what is being assumed of being totally possible with the "right moves" here.

The problem isn't that they will buy everyone, the problem is that they've blown up the transfer market to a level where it is almost unsustainable for a non-EPL club to compete long term.

Exactly, you’re almost priced out of even considering to buy a top talent player because of the inflated values assigned to them.
