As also written before, then just as terrible often Amon has been injured in long stretches' of time, then it's just as remarkable quick he is able to show his worth as soon as he is able to play. Most players seem highly rusty after a long injury-break, but though only having played 25 minutes in a cup game (where he made an assist) then he also manage to score a decisive goal in his first Superliga game since 22. September 2019. And we should not forget that he is still only 21.

i agree. it's remarkable and highly encouraging i.e. his future to come back in and immediately shine.

The harsh reality is that "unestablished"/young players who don't continue on an upward trajectory for whatever the reason (injury, lack of skill, bad luck, etc) rarely make it to the higher levels of the sport.

When a player starts missing time, not playing etc its usually a good sign they won't flourish in the future, unfortunately.

it's really special for him to do what he just did.

One of those chaps where if it weren't for bad luck he'd have no luck at all.

Really disappointing. But availability is a skill. He (like other young Americans) doesn’t have it.

let’s hope 2021 brings him health.

My heart breaks for this kid. What a gut punch. All he can do is put his nose to the ground and prepare for long haul back again.

Well on the bright side - couldn't ask for a better statement than this from the leadership of the team:

    Sports director Jan Laursen:
-This is almost unbearable, and we are all affected by it in FC Nordsjælland. Jonathan is such a positive person with a big fighter heart, and he has already gone through a lot without whining but has instead boned on. When he made a comeback on Monday, one could clearly see how much it meant to everyone in the club and how much joy it spread. Not only among the teammates but also all the many people in the offices and in the academy who have forged strong bonds with Johnny during the many years he has been in the club. Now another big match off the field awaits him. We do not know how long it will be, but what we can say for sure is that Jonathan is not going to fight it alone. We will all do our utmost to support him every single day.

Such a huge bummer - I feel really bad for the kid. Hoping he can bounce back.

does a knee fracture almost certainly mean ligament damage as well? or is it short hand for some ligament issue? can one fracture their knee without damaging anything other than the knee cap?

really bummed for the kid too but it sounds like he has the time and space he needs to make another comeback. maybe stu holden can give him some pointers...

Knee fracture implies bone issues. I doubt it necessarily implies a ligament injury, but not a doctor.

No. A common cause is falling on your knee. The bone can fracture and not affect ligaments at all.

The article did not mention ligament damage. The patella bone was damaged. Non-surgical methods were used to aid recovery. The bone refractured.

what might this re-injury indicate about this becoming chronic and something that doesn't go away?

Well, sad about the misfortune that seem to keep striking Amon, but he has not given up hope but seem to believe that this is no worse than any of his other injuries and that he will bounce back and become fit for fight and eventually get rid of these injuries.... but talking about misfortune at a larger scale then ...

    Oops... sorry..

The world's largest container shipping company, both by fleet size and cargo capacity, Danish Maersk Group, unfortunately by accident run over and cut a Greek navy ship in half with, according to Maersk and Danish media no real damage to the container ship. So I guess the Maersk slogan apparently now is >we brake for nobody< .

The Greek media seem to blame Portugal and not Denmark, because the ship was not flying a Danish flag (surely because of some taxation issues), but really we are at fault and should be blamed, but in truth we would rather have hit a Turkish naval ship with Erdogan on board, if this kind of mistake was bound to happen.

FCN recently signed and now are fielding the 33-yo CB Johan Djourou, but never the less, as it was also the case last year, the international CIES Football Observatory have praised FC Nordsjælland to be fielding the youngest top-flight team in Europe, though this time they have only focused on the top 20 leagues :
