Kaiserslautern were good enough to win the Bundesliga in the late 90s and have spent 10 of the last 12 years outside the top flight. Besides that, the reason Leeds stayed down was because they were broke and couldn't afford to build a good enough team to come back up. That comparison seems really apt for Schalke. Hamburg is more like Sunderland in that they're just run really poorly.
Drama with Lampard: 👀🇺🇸 Frank Lampard on Jesse Marsch saying that the Chelsea manager didn't truly appreciate Christian Pulisic's talent: "I did read those comments and I was surprised Jesse was able to read my mind as well as he thought he did..." #CFC #USMNT https://t.co/4Z8hsuSDGY— NBC Sports Soccer (@NBCSportsSoccer) October 29, 2020
CL Matchday 3 is today, and it's hard to imagine a successful CL campaign that does not now include a win v Bayern Munich (3:00 PM eastern). 1 v Lokomotiv Moscow [led 2-1, but conceded at 75' - drew 2-2] 2 @ Atletico Madrid [led 1-2, but conceded two more, including at 85' - lost 3-2] 3 v Bayern Munich [Today - must win!] 4 @ Bayern Munich [in 3 weeks, Nov 25, can't count on a result] 5 @ Lokomotiv Moscow 6 v Atletico Madrid
who do we root for? a bunch of draws and rbs wins seems like what it will take, along with somehow getting the only result in the group from bayern?
var gives atleti a pk and a goal! review itself makes suarez mad enough to earn him a yellow. i would see if i could get him sent off for sure
apologies if this was already posted since it is a few months old, but i this is an incredible look from marsch into his philosophy. never really seen another manager do this tbh
I tuned in for the last 10-15 minutes and the main impression I came away with was that this game seems way too wide open for Salzburg's liking. But then again, that seems to be the way they want to play in general, so maybe they're fine with that.
bayerns attackers are all better than salzburgs, but they dont play together any better. if salzburg had a lewa they could have 4 goals easily. bayerns center backs are going to be a problem and they really miss davies.
Salzburg are giving Bayern fits, like they did against Atleti on the road last week. Pressure and quick read. Just need end product & results in the end. If Jesse can get a lead, I trust he'll shut it down this time & try to counter. 2-2 atm.
